He still only averaged 17.5 possessions a game for the year before the injury. Yes, he was finally being played in his correct position and was doing a pretty good job of it, but he was not some messiah that cost us a chance at top 6. He's a good back up player, but not best 22 in my book.

By 'bull' i was stating his in and under work at stoppages. Which seemed to release some pressure off Jobe, whom could then play a little more freely. (resting forward)

Also i agree with him currently being outside our best 22 currently. However i like the way Lonners goes about it in the midfield, throwing his body at anything and anyone, adds a bit of hardness IMO.
Looking forward to seeing an improvement to his game.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Carlisle play. I've been a big fan of him for a while now and was a bit annoyed that he doesn't seem to be best 22 according to our coaching panel. I'm hoping for a big game from him that will cement his spot in the side, whether that be as a forward or defender. Also I like that we seem to be playing 3 of Watson/Hocking/Howlett/Lonergan. I think that's the right number for balance purposes. Lonergan for me is probably best 25 rather than best 22 but he will probably end up playing most games anyway due to players being unavailable and I don't have any problem with that.

I guess also you could read into how the coaches maintained the same number of talls/smalls and think that perhaps this is how they see our best team structured which is somewhat interesting. I think many of us were thinking that perhaps we were going to see the 3 rucks from the get-go which does seem to create more problems than it solves.

Good to be getting some depth about our side, Lonergan is a good player
