Big Pond hasn't worked for years, now they have a monopoly on the clubs what is their need to fix the problems? Telstra couldn't give 2 ****s about the videos not working, they never have and they never will.

Shouldn't have signed then, David.

His signature was important for the club commercially, that's why he did it.

Personally I don't think it's a big deal.

The older website format was better, granted. But I'm happy to put up with some minor inconveniences with downloading videos if it places the club in better shape financially. God knows we need it after our expensive off-season.

I like that DE is going to demand that Telstra fix their video service.

I fear that he'll be banging his head against a wall on that one - Telstra are a big, conservative, slow moving company. When they move they move en force (e.g. NextG), but they move when they want to and how they want to.

Our best hope is that the AFL take back control in 2012.

If Telstra change their ways - which IMO would necessarily mean ditching Silverlight - I'll eat my hat (not a nacho hat).

Errr... personally, I now cannot watch ANY video... None... Nil... Nought... SFA! Given that's why I subscribe, I'd call it a little more than a "minor inconvenience".

I'm sure Visy would kick in a few bucks if we agree to roll-over to the Blues each time we play them too. That would also help the finances. Good idea???

You have to draw a line somewhere. I'd suggest that a web site that does not work for a large number of users is definitely on the other side of that line. These aren't NEW issues, problems or "glitches", FFS! Why is DE trying to pretend that they are! Blind Freddy knew this was gonna happen!

It's easy to say that from the outside, but the Essendon Football Club is a business. If they're being told by the governing body they need to sign something for the betterment of the club, or else..

Or else what, exactly? What were the AFL gonna do? Pop a cap in our a$$??

They (AFL/Telstra) have been trying to get EFC onboard the Telstra train all along, but EFC have resisted... until now. Why did the EFC hold out for so long? I'd suggest it was because of a) functionality/usability issues with BugPond and b) to maintain control of their brand and Internet rights, the value of which will continue to grow rapidly over the next few years. What's changed? Certainly not a)!

Now that we've rolled over, before the "glitches" (being extremely generous) are ironed out, the EFC have lost all leverage in negotiations. Any motivation for Telstra to remove their digit has been lost as they now already own all the AFL.

I'm sorry, but the "it's a business" argument sounds a helluva lot like the "it's company policy" BS you get fed by companies like Telstra and the banks when you ask them about some ridiculous charge/procedure/practice. It's a thin excuse that seems to be employed to justify stupid or unfair decisions that cannot be explained with any sense of logic or justice.

Don't be posting torrent sites on here. AFL will take it down quick smart.

Where can you post/find them?? Please PM me (someone... anyone!). I've a feeling I'm going to need to improve my Torrent knowledge/skills this season.
