Essendon's Next Premiership Side

What will that look like? Could be next season, could be 2020 for all we know, but i, like everyone else here, is hoping that a group of the young guys that we have on the list right now has what it takes to make us a premiership threat, whether that be in 2 years or 6 years. You can put in ??? which means you don't think right now we have a player to cover that posistion. Ofcourse you could put a side of ???'s, but what's the fun in that And also, let's say you don't think any ruckman on our list will be in our next premiership side, i know there is a thread about the possibility of Robert Warnock, if you think we might get him and he might be in that side, don't actually right Warnock in the side, put the ??? but underneath say, i believe we are a fair chance to get Warnock and he could fill the ruck. Anyway, let's give it a go.

I think that one of the ??? should be a ruckman, unsure as to who, but Hille will be getting on and his mobility around the ground will be severely weakened by this, if Laycock gets his act together then he would be ideal, but no reason Bellchambers couldn't also be the big body we're looking for there. The other ???, a few people might mention Monfries name, maybe even Lovett, but i don't see them in this side. Hopefully another midfielder, maybe with our first pick this year in a strong draft, that might do the trick

In reagards to your team:

• Dempsey should develop into a winger or stay on the half-back flank. Would be wasted in the back pocket and isn't a great defender
• Nash may earn a midfield spot. With his attacking qualities and skills he would be better used to deliver the ball to forwards
• Ryder to play ruck
• I personally don't think Dyson would make it

Of course there are draft picks and trades but that is a decent start

I contemplated about Lovett, but thought at best this will be 3-4 years away, he's already 25, maths tells you he will be in the later part of his career, for players relying on pace like his, just not sure how effective he will be at that age.

Looks good, Michael Hurley is a FB so I'd switch him and Pears. With Ryder going in the ruck we would have all key positions filled for the next 10 years at least

For the club to even consider even making a GF there's going to have to be another clean out cos atm we have a bunch of lazy, uncoordinated, dumb footballers in the team! I dont want us to become another Richmond who have clean outs & rebuild every 3 years due to poor recruiting & drafting.
