EURO 2004 tips

I like italy in this comp, and at $5.75 i shall be placing $100 of my hard earned dollars on them to win the whole thing.

Just think they are due.

Unless you are brasil i think a great defence beats a great attack every time. Plus i think Zidane is past his best.

I think Spain have the side to win Euro 2004.. They included 8 defenders in the squad, and only really need 1 attacker in Raul.. I think they can go a long way in this comp..
At $7.50, not bad odds for a good team

I'm not a huge soccer follower so I need help here - why wouldn't Portugal win it at home?

The French don't have the BEST defense, but their Forward/attacking Midfielders are a Cut above the rest..

And Plus i would prefer a 4-3 win over some of the defensive Crap i have seen some sides ( Including Italy)throw up in Major championships ...

My point is that i reckon Italy without doubt have the #1 defence, their forwards are right up there with the best, and their midfield whilst not #1 is still above average. My hunch is this is Italy's comp, they were extremely unlucky not to win it last time remember. Big comps are usually won by great defences (brasil aside) and italy fit that bill for me.

They are 2nd favourites and a good chance. Will most probably meet England or France in the Quarter Final which will be a big test. Portugal and Spain are 2 countries who have the players to win but maybe not the temperament to make it the whole way.

I also think Italy's defence can win them the cup.

I waited till italy's first game then i was going to back em, but they were so deplorable that i decided they were **** and not worth punting. Haven't even had a bet but i'm contemplating England now.

After reading over the posts on this thread, I've come to the conclusion that all of you people know nothing about soccer... or you're shocking tipsters - one of the two.

I'm happy at this stage having backed both Portugal and Sweden at nice odds...I hope to have one in the final but I can't see either beating France...hopefully the Czech's might roll them in the semi's because I can't see the Greeks beating them....

That's a jolly good question..seems the bookmakers didn't have enough takers on Portugal initially so they raised the odds to get some nibbles. I doubt they will be $7.50 after this morning. Good Luck with your punting.
