Phone...twice.

First time at the Snow in New Zealand. I hired a jacket, put my phone in it. What I didn't know was that there was a hole in it and it was half a day before I realised it myself.

Second time earlier this year, pocket too close to pants, must've dropped on the floor whilst eating and forgot it.

Now I'm paranoid about my phone wherever I go

Maybe you should be more careful.

A $400 (at the time) mobile phone in a bloody pine forest while walking through it with a group of friends. It was on silent, so i couldn't call it and it was in a little clip thing that attached to your pants, so the screen was covered up. Because of that, i couldn't call it and see it lighting up.

Its in about a 2sq km of pine forest around Mount Macedon. If anyone finds it, please PM me.

That is hideous, i'm so sorry to hear that. It makes all the other valuable possessions seem very trivial.

Indeed it does. When I opened this thread I expected peoples who've lost things of substance, but instead it's full of Mobile Phones or other disposable crap.

Deceased friends can never be replaced, and there aint much on this earth that is more valuable.

I lost a certain lil redhead too, but I can only blame myself for that.

what do you mean? pm me

I know what you mean about the trivial crap on this thread, i posted my grandmothers ring (but that had sentimental value). I'm sure most people have lost someone whether it be a relative. You've been hit hard by losing 3 friends, that is just too much.

A grandmother's ring is valuable, likely has alot of sentimental and dollar value.

I haven't been hit hard, it's part of life that friends will die, it's just very sad when they're so young and they cant see any other way but to end it all.

One mate was in teh Army and drove leopard tanks.. he hung himself of teh cannon of his tank the day before the 1 year anniversary of his father killing himself.

He was only 19 and the best bloke Id ever met. If you were out with Nick, nothing bad could ever happen to you... He was teh type who was the first to help when you were in trouble, but the last to ask for help when he was in trouble :(

It's bizarre to think he was a year older than me, and now im 12 years older than he'll ever be. Just a tragic tragic waste.

Another friend was in the Navy. She had three young kids and intentionally overdosed on sleeping pills, leaving behind 3 parentless children(their father had bolted years ago)

The last one, whose mum is on a very prominent insurance company's ad campaign and has been for years, so Im always reminded... he was basically losing his head through paranoia and believed Burt Newton was truly the devil, and was sending evil messages through his morning show.

he hung himself from a tree just before sunrise on a busy Sydney road.

The thing these 3 people all had in common was loyalty, exceptional creativity (2 were Musos), an amazing sense of humour which would see them all the type who are centre of attention at a party...

And all of them, you'd never even bloody know something was wrong.

****!

The greatest people ever are usually the ones who take every caution not to be a burden on others so they don't ask for help, even though everyone around them would jump through hoops to help them.

On the flip side there are people who are continously telling you thier "sob story" and how hard done by they are. I cannot stand those people, i actually don't like hardship stories beucase i feel that most people use them as an excuse for bad behaviour.

Anyway those 3 travesties are extremely sad, I could imagine that pain would stay with you in one way or another.

More a sadness than pain these days. Katy, the mum was only 2 years ago and I hadnt seen her since I left melbourne and it came as a shock... Kind of like something you just cant believe.

Actually thinking back... they were all like that.

One thing i know is that I will never ever attend a funeral for a soldier who has committed suicide again.

I want everyone to get blind drunk at my funeral, laugh their guts out and remember how much of an arseh*le I was.

I dont want any sadness left in my wake.

Well, people see things as $$ value, or personal value ie friends and family.

My mobile phone happens to be the $$ value thing i have lost.
Something of a personal value would be my girlfriend who died two years ago today actually. Very scarey that. This thread is running on the same day..

Sorry I just dont consider a mobile phone valuable in any sense. In fact losing a mobile phone can be a very healthy experience.

Unless of course you need your phone for business, like say if you're a drug dealer.

babe i hope you don't think i was referring to you, i don't think you were whinging. You don't strike me as the victim type and i was referring to victims. I have little time for weak people, I like strong people.

i know what you mean, its more of a numb sadness that you can't touch so you can't fix.

If i died young which i won't but if i did my friends would have a massive massive dance party.

My mum has always said the same thing she wants everyone drinking and laughing and talking about the funny things in her life.

Anyone want my mobile?.. its s-hit as :thumbsd:

How can you say a mobile phone is not valuable? In a $$ sense, it could be worth a bit and you lose it.... therefore, losing something valuable that is worth an amount of money.
