Who cares, goals are goals. And he’s clearly playing as something between a CF and a false nine so goals aren’t everything. He’s bringing others into the game and if Richarlson or Walcott were in form he’d be having an even bigger impact.

By no means do I think he is the sole answer, but get a genuine poacher at his feet and his value will increase even more.

God no. He's not that good. We'd scored 3 goals a game if we had a better striker up front versus the 1 we do at the moment.

Awfully glad I was out last night & didn’t watch our worst performance of the season directly after our best

I watched the first half. Went to bed, then woke up prior to the second half starting on the replay laterin the morning. When I saw the first half "highlights", it was all Fulham peppering our goal. When I look at this game, I'm inclined to think the previous good results were more due to the deficiencies of West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal rather than our improved form.

If you didn't know beforehand, and was told one team was already relegated and the other was in the top half. There's no question you'd have thought the team in blue were the ones relegated, and would be surprised the team in white was only just in the top half.

Get in a decent striker and I reckon that lot can get top 4 if we remain healthy.

EDIT: Also looking at that list, Marco/Brands would have brought in 7 of 11, says a lot about the past signings.

I think that we have a good squad on paper, but unfortunately the mentality hasn’t changed from what it was under Moyes. Once the pressure is off, we pass the ball around and get numbers forward like we did last night. I bet you if we had a top 4 spot on the line last night, we set up and play much more conservatively.

1-0 already, think that character building won't happen today.

Personally I couldn't care, season's done. Last game of the season won't change much going into next season when you've got new players and everyone is on 0 points.

It's a juicy December and 4 weeks over feb/mar, with Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man U over consecutive weeks. But a generous April/May to end the season.

December will be a month and a half for us, oddly enough we always have the big teams crammed into one month.

A reasonably big night for the club, Vlasic has joined CSKA Moscow on a permanent deal worth around £13m (with a sell on clause also attached)

Leighton Baines has re-signed at the club for another year.

Last and most excitingly Andre Gomez now appears all but offical with most media outlets reporting a fee of £22m has been agreed, which is ridiculously cheap in the modern market. The formalities still need to be completed from all reports but hopefully it’s official soon!

Fabian Delph is also offical, £8.5m with £1.5m in potential bonuses according to Joyce.

Not a real ground breaking signing but one that’ll improve the squad.
