i have met blackie a few times, i have met hasleby a couple of times...... hasleby is an arrogant piece of shizen, heath came across as a pretty genuine, nice bloke.

if it were up to me i would have offloaded hasleby 2 years ago, i choose to believe that black retired due to injury.

paul hasleby is by far, other than mick malthouse and brendan fevola, the most arrogant, self involved player i have ever met. the club should be trying to weed out players like HIM

every time i have seen him he has acted like a tool. one particular time sticks out when he was sitting at the club watching the boys train, he was literrally doing nothing, people went up to ask him to sign an autograph, he just flat out refused, for no reason, even some of the club personell were taken aback.

another instance, after the dockers had won a derby hase was acting like a tool bumping into people and just in general being a knob, when he was asked to settle down, his response was "no, i can do what i want, im paul hasleby"

there are other examples, but these are not examples of a decent bloke. i wish all players could just be like ryan crowley, good bloke, who doesnt think that he is above anyone else, and he sees his position as a footy player as a privillege, not a right to be a tosser..

have to disagree with you there. Hase has to be one of the nicest AFL players I have ever met. "Arrogant piece of shizen" is no way to talk about a loyal player of our club.

paul used to be one of my favourite players, but after the first time i saw him be a twat, i thought, bad day, then there was a second incident, i started to question what the hell he was thinking, i can recall five times he was a w***er to supporters, so im off his bandwagon. like i said he isnt the only one, fevola, malthouse, selwood, mcpharlin, rosa and nickoski all fit into this catagory for me.... i cant stand arrogance... :thumbsdown:

however, through my own fault, this ahs become a bit negative so i will end this post with some players who i have found to be absolute gentlemen.... Ryan Crowley, Paul Bower (although he is a mate), Chris Mainwaring, Chris Lewis, Brent Staker, Eddie Betts, Aisake O'hailpin, Jeff Farmer, Shaun Mcmanus, Troy Cook and Adam Campbell were all great blokes, mark harvey is also a nice bloke.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I've had a few less than favourable encounters with Haselby. I'm probably more apathetic to him than anything. My loyalty to the Dockers is the only thing that keeps him from being loathed.

All people have their moments and footy players are hassled far more than your average joe.

In reality most people can be w***ers on any given day, if you percieve it that way,

Let them be :)
 
I'd probably be a grumpy prick if I was constantly hassled by nuff nuffs saying/asking stupid shit constantly.

I work in the public eye a bit and get drunken idiots coming up to me from time to time when I'm out "I know you!". I'd hate to be actually famous like these blokes are.

I agree with this, but why is it that some players handle it well and others act like tossers.... i agree though it wouldnt be easy, but when you get paid as much as they do, when you are in the public eye because you are an elite sportsman, then you have to expect it and then deal with it appropriately.

i dont see how paul refusing to sign a kids ball helps either himself, the club or the supporter??

anyway there are players who go out of their way to be nice to their supporters, crowley for me is the best example. jeff farmer obviously can have anger issues but gee he was great with kids, that part of his personality atleast is admirable
