My Parents have changed our ISP from IINET to These Guys.

I don’t know much about them and could not find a site for them.

So can people give me some info about them Please

Can't find a site either. But unless your parents are in IT it should be the kids responsibility for anything IT based lol

Yep, not an ISP I'd be going near. Just another reseller with zero customer support, and zero f**ks to give when their bandwidth is flooded once you're locked into that 24 month contract.

Well, I have super Slow speeds tonight.

What you mean by Bandwidth Flood?

an example would be like the vodaphone mobile issue a few years ago, they over subscribed customers, which lead to the entire network being rooted during heavy usage periods. Basically think of it as if everyone at your house was using the net at the same time, more users connecting the slower the net is for everyone.

Its the same deal, what these flyby night isp's do is buy ex amount of bandwidth of companies like telstra and resell it. everyone they resell to is going through their connection. this creates bottlenecks and queue's in the network slowing down your connection.

in extreme cases this will actually stop you connecting to the internet as the number of people in the queue trying to connect exceed the available bandwidth and effectively blocks anyone from getting online.

basically its like ordering pizza, pizzahut can handle a **** load of incoming calls, but your local family owned pizzeria is lucky to more then one at time.

IF That Happens then we probably go back to a Big Company then
