Allowing the change in ruling on protection of the head to change with the bump and accidental knock out caused by Thomas on Reid last week by the AFL... I would expect by what Buckley has stated in the press we won't hold back this week.

If your feet are on the ground and your shoulder doesnt meet your opponents head then we are good as per what has been said :thumbsu: (even though Thomas was half a meter in the air when he hit Reid!)

(Go Maxy go - no more holding back, the AFL says so)

It's been endorsed widely and publically by the AFL MRP and then backed up by the AFL.

This weekend, people are leaving the arena on a stretcher... fairly!

Wow... contact sport is allowed again... Lets ****ing go!

I hope we don't get sucked into this stuff. You can bet your boots that Mr Demetriou will have a Posse out looking for even the slightest head taps. Just do what you've done for years pieboys....play the ball.

and to all those wanting the biffo back....check out Tuddy's work on the "I hate Carlton" vid on the clubs website....and Banksy's...(he had a long memory where David Rhys Jones was concerned)

It wasn't a new precedent being set - it was just another example of the MRP's bewildering lack of consistency. If any player replicates the Thomas bump this weekend, we can expect a 4 week penalty to be dished out.

Agree 100% with above poster there will be totally new interpretations this weekend and anyone who did what Thomas got away with last weekend will get a spell sure as apples and anyone who has watched the mrp in recent times realises this.

I can see this game being pretty tame affair tbh when was the last Pies vs Blues clash that had any real spite and passion in it? most pie players don't care any more then beating GWS and are mates with half the Carlton side.

Malthouse did his best to eradicate this (rivalry) from the current playing group and drilled the mantra it's just another 4 points.

You would have to go back to when Fev played for them to see any real mongrel still between the teams, it's all just marketing and for the fans now.
