If any of you venture onto the getty images site, and view the state that lance whitnall has returned to training in, you are going to vomite...HE LOOKS LIKE A PIG...Please I urge you to view the firs photo of when he is running in the time trial, then look at the shot of him playing this year...he has simply gone backward since he got his F****N contract...instead on building on his body improvenments of last year, he has simply taken 2 steps back...all carlton supporters prepare for a constant whitnall attack next year, coz he wont be able to run...Please you have to see the photos to see the difference.

***the way to view them is www.gettyimages.com...then go to sport and type in lance whitnall...the evidence is there!!!

Pathetic.

Lance was about 4 kgs heavier. For a bloke who is around 100 that is not a great deal. It is early November and we are 4 months away from the start of the season.

I was at the training run and he looked in decent shape. I do not however base it on how someone looks in a t shirt when they are running.

Lance was last in the run last year and this year he was not.

His fitness last year was a lot better than anything since 2000 so where does that leave him this year?

Lance finished 4th last.

He beat Betts, Bryan and Livingston. You aware of that?

its 2 weeks into November no need to panic

that's why clubs have pre-season training, so players can get fit, fitter or recover from injury/surgery

did you go down and watch training or just looking at pic's on the net?

eyy mojo 31...or should i say a lance whitnall lover...whitnall cannot affort to be 1 gram overweight, let alone just a lazy 4 kilograms...now instead of staying the same weight he was he now has to devote time to loosing this extra 4 kilograms...obviously you are undeducated in the field, and can honestly sa lance whitnal that over paid bloke who has had fa problems his whole life, know has the right to put a few kilograms on after the break...GET REAL MORON. Also telling me my post was pathetic when you dont no what you are talking about...he is 4 kilograms behind...end of story...he is a fraud, who got his money and he got his 2 year cointract...now he is going to go and by meat pies, because he knows he is safe.

He is 4kgs of his peak physical condition that he was at last year. He has a poor bodytype and will never look like a Kouta. Did finish top 3 in the best and fairest though.

If you believe 4 kgs is a lot then get real. If he is still 4 kgs above it by Christmas then thats a problem but in early November it is fine.

Anybody who read any of my posts knows I am not a big fan of Lance. I wanted him traded this year.

Saying I am "uneducated" is pretty funny after reading your post though.

4kgs is nothing, 2 weeks max too lose that type of weight. Provided his body is injury free he should be able to shred a lot during the preseason. And yes he does have the right to put a few kgs. To have to continually diet and train to maintain a figure that you find acceptable isnt healty(are you a closet homo? seem to be with you fasination on a blokes shape.). This type of regime will lead to chronic injuries, the last thing we need with him.

Why dont you dous all a favour and head over and support Richmond with all the other ferals.

Mojo is the last person on this board i would call 'undeducated'

He is right about Lance's bodytype. He is a natural endomorph, not the lean athletic type. If he puts on any extra kg's then he will look more unfit than he actually is. Seeing how easy it is for footballers to put on weight once they stop training regularly, then i would say Lance isn't going too bad at this stage of pre-season.

He's Got His Contract And Money And Lets Face It He Will Loss It When He Is In His Last Year Of His Contract. Whats Knew.

I would just like to make the point that Whitnal NEEDS to be fitter than everybody else because he has such a poor record.......
He is being well paid and you would think after all the media critisisms of the last few years would want to prove them wrong by trying HARDER than everyone else in the off season to MAINTAIN his fitness.
In all walks of life there are people who struggle (Lance when it comes to fitness) and there are those that it all comes very easily. Those that struggle have a choice to make....
1. accept their fate and wallow in mediocrity OR
2. recognise their weakness and work on them

Lance clearly does not subscribe to the 2nd choice. And it is that attitude that quite frankly gives most of us the ********s. Especially when he is being paid big dollars

The sentiment in this post is 100%

Bet he wouldn't be eating McDonalds in the offseason at Highpoint and Greensborough Plaza if it was a contract year

what i am saying is if he came back on exactly what he left and not 4 kilograms over, then he could loose another 4 kilograms, therefore he would be 8 kilograms ahead of what he is now. His condition and preperation for 2006 far better, and his performances will improve...The football side of things for lance are 100% perfect because he is a gun in that sense, tho all he has to work on is his fitness to get it right..a professional like this cannot afford to come back like this...look at tredrea, brown, rewoldt, always keep themsleves in top quality state.

I heard Nick Stevens being interviewed on 3AW on the weekend. He stated that Lance's did not finish last like he had the previous year. Also said that Lance's time this year was faster than the time he posted last year when he presented himself in fairly good shape.

Dont be too quick to judge just yet

Lance ran a slighlty better time this time trial as compared to the same one last year. A lot was made of it last year about Lance working hard in the off season but nothing mentioned this year.
He had a good year and deserved to finish top 3 in the best and fairest.

So dont understand the problem. If he does not drop weight before the first AFL game then there is a problem but expecting him to weigh the same as when he finished the season is not right.

The only person I saw at the training run who looked like he enjoyed the off season to much was Eddie Betts. He however was in better shape than last year also but I would be more concerned about him at this stage.
He is never going to be a long distance runner but would have expected a little more from him.
Perhaps him getting dropped last season after turning up late to training (Bulldogs game in Darwin from memory) was not an aberration and perhaps his attiude is not what it needs to be.
I hope not as he is a talented player who had a very good first year.

professionalism guys, where is it? undisciplined and selfish. Thats all i have to say. :o

Professionalism, good point. These days football IS a profession.

I consider myself a professional, but i don't play football, i use my brain. Perhaps i shouldn't drink alcohol during my 4 weeks annual leave as i will not come back to work with tip-top cognitive functioning? Then i am guilty of being unprofessional too.
