What the hell are they about ?

When Mike Tyson first came out with his years ago everyone thought he was going mad but now it seems every two bit wannabe gangster has got one. Don't these people realise they are there for life.

I am no tattoo fan but if people want to to get them on their body then thats their business. However they frankly look horrible on a persons neck and or face.

To anyone reading this thinking of getting one I have some advice. Save yourself some money and get "I AM ******ED" stamped across your forehead. It will be cheaper and the end result is the same....

I don't know why you really care. If people want to **** up their body, thats their choice.

What the F&*^ business is it of yours?. Ive got a tattooed neck, i wouldnt get one on my face but if someone wants to get one who cares? If it makes you THAT uncomfortable maybe you should get off your mums teet for five minutes and go and experience the world, its not all cupcakes and rainbows...

(Would also like to point out i am not one of those stupid fringe wearing girly men in the hardcore punk scene :thumbsu: )

Why should it matter if the world is all cupcakes and rainbows or not? You`re still an idiot for geting a tattoo on your face/neck. But if you want to mess up your future employment prospects and have every second person on the street laughing at you, that`s your choice I guess. PS, the world is what you make it.

But it's worth putting something toxic permantely on your face if you get a complete stranger to look at you in the street. A.D.D. Tougher the better.

Ive been constantly employed for the last 15 years, you have proven many a time on the geelong board that you are the idiot. Im married and own a house, and im not sure why you assoaciate tattoos with anger?. Im very happy with my lot in life. I guess you are happy in your little judgemental world and nothing anyone says will change that.

Tattoos on the face and neck - not tattoos in general.

Can I ask why you did it ?
Whats the attraction ?

Ignoring faces and necks surely the below is the tattoo equivalent of someone in 1976 deciding that they will wear brown flares for life, or in 1984 someone deciding a red bandana would remain on their head until they die.

if you're thinking of opening a business, tattoo removals would surely be a growth business for the same reason no one is wearing brown flares or red bandanas anymore.

or am I wrong?

I think the two are completely different, i think face tattoo's are a planet away from the neck but thats just my opinion.

As to why?.

Without delving too much into my sketchy past haha ...Its a swallow that i have tattooed (no i do not swallow) for me its always been a reminder to stay clean & stay out of trouble because i could have gone down a very windy road, ive got friends who are in prison and friends who are dead and i just wanted something better for myself and this was my kind of reminder that no matter how bad it got that i had to keep my shit together. I'll never regret getting it, thats who i was at the time and i can live with that. To be honest i dont even think about having it, it really is a non issue.

Haha, proven many a time that I am an idiot? I`m not the one with a tattoo on my neck and who is misreading posts and claiming that I associate all tattoos with anger. You seem to be an angry individual though, judging by your response to the OP. Where did I even mention anger? I`m also know how to spell associate. I have tattoos that mean a lot to me too, but I have them in places where I can cover them with clothing.

I was just saying that if you were going for a job where apperances were important you`d have no chance, and the average Joe in the street will judge you immediately because of your neck/face tattoo. If you have no problem with either of those things, then by all means, get a tattoo on your face/neck. It`s your life.

He's provoking you! Punch him out, Cam!

As has been said... It's a personal choice. I have a tat and plan on getting another but I definitely wouldn't consider the face/neck region. I'd prefer to keep mine in places where they won't be on display when I'm 80 years old and feel like wearing a short sleaved shirt.

Another person who can`t read. :P The whole basis of that argument was that if someone hits me, I will reserve the right to hit them back. I agree with you on getting tattoos in places that you can cover them up if need be though.

I have two tattoos. A tiger on my left arm and a bulldog on my back near the shoulder blade. Most people wouldn't know I have them and I forget I have them most of the time. But I still like them. I don't really understand people who get tattoos that will be out of date in a few years time. Someone I know got a Freddy Kreuger tattoo. I'm sure he's going to love that tattoo when he's in his 40s. I don't really understand getting them on your face and neck either but each to their own.

Just stirring shit, mate.

I see this kind of reasoning a lot, but don't really understand it. Why would people care what they look like when they're 80? I very much doubt I'll still be going around at that age, let alone worrying about how I look in public.

A lot of young people are getting tattoos because they feel that it adds to their appearance. Good for them. They're in the prime of their lives right now and if they're tatts look shit when they reach retirement, well, who cares? In regards to the OP, I don't think face tattoos are very wise, but some neck ones can look okay. Each to their own, you may not like their tattoo, but they may love the way it looks?

For the record, I have one tat, but it can be easily covered when working which is good!

Why would people care what they look like when they're 80?

Why wouldn't they?

I don't really see any age in my life where looking like a f*n idiot will be okay with me.

I'm not saying having a tat on my forearm or something would necessarily be that bad when I'm older, but the truth is that I don't know how I'll feel about it then, so I prefer just to keep my tats a little more easily concealed.

Fair enough, I just don't think one should refrain from getting a certain tatt because they're worried what it will look like when they're old and wrinkly. You're only young once, if you want to get a design done, then you should. If it has a certain meaning (maybe a child's name or something along those lines), then that should ensure that it stays relevant for life. That's just my opinion though. Tattoos in general seem to cause a lot of debate among society, this thread being a good example!
