It's not what it says. I just can't believe someone could feel the need to share it. I dunno, like it if you feel like it applies to you, but it's not the sort of thing that is going to get you a boyfriend.

Oh yeah I agree with that. Desperate single people post some cringeworthy shit online.

It reminds me of that Bill Burr quote: "There's that critical point where you've been single for so long where you go from 'don't say that' to 'eh, **** it, say it, see what happens'"

With the current refuge crisis, it's a great opportunity to weed out the dickheads on your friend list.
Why is it only the far left who factor in political opinions when determining friends?

Bloody pissweak IMO, who cares about people's views.

I have had a grand total of one person on my FB post something anti-gay marriage and she copped so much shit for it that it was depressing. I don't agree with her but I hate how so many people on the 'left' (whatever that may mean) are like rabid animals when someone with a different opinion comes along.

How many hippy mates have you got mate?
None, but I haven't avoided being friends with any by choice.

Have several Labor voting friends though. People who can't have a discussion without bringing their own political opinions into it are the worst.

Free speech for everyone! (so long as the left agree with it.)

I'm not sure I understand. Of course people's views can impact whether you can be friends with somebody.
Yes of course, but many leftists will consciously not associate with people who don't share their views, even if they're not outward with them.

Would you pick your friends based on their political beliefs? Or stop seeing someone because they don't vote for the same party as you or whatever?

Who's left or right and who decided which side was which? If I turn around 180 degrees you are no longer on the side you just were o_O

Depends how extreme their political beliefs were. Not if they just voted for a different party.
I'm not saying out and out Nazi or Commie, just someone who is conservative and realtively quietly opposes gay marriage. Most leftists would not be friends with a person like that.

For the record I have no issue with gay marriage.

Why would you be, though?

I wouldn't snub the bloke if he said he opposed gay marriage, I would firstly ask why.

But it's a warning sign, and most of the time they have far worse attributes that result in a stance of opposing gay marriage.

It's not just the domain of leftists though. This is any people with strong beliefs, they are more likely to have friends with the same view. I don't know how you can say it's not a two-way thing?

If people think that a dead person can check their Facebook, then just shoot them a ******* private message. Anything else is just embarrassing.
Gonna sound stupid but every year on her birthday and anniversary of death, I send a private message to an ex-girlfriend who passed away four years ago.Dunno why I actually do it.I just do.
I guess it's just my way of letting her know I'll always remember her.

Serious question, how's it feel when you open up her name and you see your last message that will never say seen?

Doesn't faze me.
I guess when I go to my mum's grave and talk to her, does she actually hear what I say ?
When I'm in Melbourne, I go and talk to my dad at his grave. Does he hear me ?
As such, are the messages actually unread ?
Who knows ?

I got caught out with a "danger signs for Adelaide" news article. Needless to say it had nothing to do with Dangerfield.

It's not stupid.
I emailed my ex boyfriend after he died... I just felt like there was so much I wanted to say and I didn't know what to do with it so I wrote it 'to him'. As long as it feels right for you then that's the main thing.
