I have just found out some very interesting info and I thought I would share this with all of you.
In my line of work I deal with our apparel sponsor Nike and I have been told that the navy blues will wear a yellow guernsey in support of Lance Armstrong and the Livestrong foundation.
Both teams that Nike sponsor in football codes, Us and the Brisbane Broncos will wear a full yellow strip!
I do not know an exact date as I am not even meant to know what I already do but I can tell you it will be around the time of the Tour De France, so I'm guessing whenever we play a game around that time. It is later in the first half of the year.
Fev has already done some marketing for this (by the way he was hungover as and had only slept for an hour when they did the promo stuff).
We will be wearing a YELLOW jumper with a black CFC logo as well as yellow shorts and socks. The Herald Sun will also have all newspapers wrapped in yellow.
From what I was told it all looks awesome although I'm still trying to get my head around what it will look like.
We will also run through a banner promoting Livestrong which will of course be yellow.
Basically this is a huge thing for Nike and they have basically spent their marketing budget on this idea with half of the money raised going to Livestrong and the other half to a charity of Carlton's choice...Peter Mc is what I was told.
THIS IS NOT FOR CARLTON'S BENEFIT!!!!
WE ARE NOT MAKING ANYTHING FROM THIS!!!
I'm not too sure how they exactly plan to raise money but I'm sure they have something planed.
Ok sorry for the long post but I wanted to let you know everything I know.
So........What do we think???
Personally I think that if it's all for a good cause why not. We all know about the M&M blues so why not give the yellow a crack and help out those involved!
