That's what a T20 subordinate would say.If anyone cares so strongly about what form of cricket another person watches that they use it to judge their worth as a person then they clearly don’t have anywhere near enough going on in their lives.
God forbid I enjoy a sport. It’s not the end of the world. That's what a T20 subordinate would say.

they'll just get renamed when CA (part?)privatises the teams, so why bother? On the BBL team names, do CA need to look at more "Aussie" names. I think the Renegades is interesting, according to the merrim webster dictionary (online) it means:
1 a deserter from one faith, cause, or allegiance to another
2 an individual who rejects lawful or conventional behavior
2 is more applicable to a Victorian team given the historical importance of Ned Kelly.
Strikers - more of a football term rather than cricket (striker = forward). What is quintessential South Australian?
Heat - good
Hobart - not sure about the historical frequency of hurricanes there. Islanders or Apple Islanders is more appropriate.
Scorcher - god aussie slang. A bit boganism that that's who we are.
Thunder - okay
Sixers - excellent. Real cricketing term
Stars - quite generic. If you go something spacial, how about the Southern Crosses?

This.
I can't see the IPL investing in the BBL (and lets be honest, that is the most realistic privatisation option) without name changes being part of the deal. We will end up with "Knight Riders" "Sunrisers" "Super Giants" and "Mumbai Indians (Insert City Here)".
One positive I can see from it is it might increase the overall interest in leagues like the IPL, CPL etc.. if the teams have some sense of similarity to them. There will be opposition to this, and totally and absolutely fair enough.
But I think rank and file BBL followers would get on board.
I have many friends who bemoan products made in China/CCP/slave labour but continue to use such products.

i.e If I follow the Perth Sunrisers, I might be more inclined to watch the Sunrisers in other leagues around the world, particular if the international signings are the same. But given that the BBL overlaps with two other IPL owned leagues in IL20 (Abu Dhabi) and SA20 (South Africa), would be interesting how they manage player availability when the teams are owned by the same entity.
I think the nicknames were created in English, rather than Hindi and translated to. But I might be wrong.
I for one dont mind. If changing names is what it takes to pump $ and entice more international players, and change the terrible uniforms, then bring on the:
Melbourne Indians
Melbourne/Geelong Super Giants
Sydney Capitals
Adelaide Kings
Perth Sunrisers
Royal Challengers Brisbane
Sydney Knight Riders
Hobart Warriors Australia
This.

Saving the summer of cricket. Players and coaches showing respect for the ticket-paying public, breath of fresh air compared to the farcical Test series.

2011 before the BBL in its current form even started?Big Bash was good when it first came out. I lost interest in it around 2011.
Lol..if someone started talking to me about how they attend first class red ball cricket,I'd be intrigued that they're such a minorityGenuine garbage.
Guaranteed conversation ending stuff.
Someone tries to talk cricket with you and then proceeds to talk T20 you shouldn't be considered rude to walk away from them abruptly. Lowbrow cricket fandom.
I’m enjoying the season and always tune into the big bash every year.
I think the best thing they did was reduce the season to 10 games per team.
Sometimes less is more.
The only change I would like to see from here.
1 Perth team
1 Adelaide team
1 Brisbane team
1 Melbourne team
1 Sydney team
1 Hobart team
You have 10 rounds and play every team home and away.
2 less teams would see the quality increase significantly. You look at some teams and think should that player realistically be getting a game.
Anyway that’s my 2 cents go the Hurricanes.
No derbies required. No more derbies? Perhaps have a read from the report on tonight's match at the MCG.
