Gilchrist - What's he done with the bat, 200 runs in 10 knocks on good pitches and 70% of those came in the first 2 games. Bring in Haddin.

Symonds - Out of World Cup, Injured arm

Watson - Can't bowl.

Hogg - Not having any impact.

Clarke - Injured foot

Problems right when we didn't need them, just as the World Cup looms.
I mean we lost to England ffs, not once but twice!

He's been ordinary for a LONG time.
The odd good knock when the sting's out of the game ie - 100 at Waca in test.
He's the last player that deserves a rest in the Chappel-Hadlee series, no form at all.

Haddin is a gun and a much better option imo.

Why don't people wait until the end of the finals series before dropping their bundle?

To suggest the Australian side is "falling apart" is pretty silly.

He was in very good form early in the series including the 20/20 match, and he was in good form in the tests. He needed a rest mid series but the selectors for some reason didnt give it to him even tho they have the last few tri series!!

LOL, some of the BF supporters must be bipolar.

When we win they are over the top, when we lose they go crazy despondent.

Every other team in the tri-nations has had a large number of injuries, now that we have them despair is setting in.

Ponting needs to step up as a leader, and selectors need to pick the right players.

FFS picking Watson for his first game in a final was stupid.

Gilchrist isnt in bad form it's just the way he always plays the game. He comes in goes the slog and when it works he is an absolute hero when it dosnt it rarely rates a mention. I've been saying for years he gets away with too much but we all let him because we know what he can achieve when everything works. Other times when he goes out for a quick fire 20 it dosnt really hurt the team because its got our run rate up at the start. Getting more low scores than normal but as Gilly always does I'm sure he''ll get it right again soon and will be forgiven again.

Watson- Rubbish always has been. Don't know what the selectors see in this hack but there the only ones who do.

Hogg- Always been average. Has succeed because of the talent around him. Lee and McGrath get the innings of to a great start he cna come in take 3 or 4 wickets against weak oppositon of teams down on confidence or when there already about 5 down but this guy will never ever win a game for Australia on he's own. He is the typical play that will star when the teams firing but when we need someone to stand up you can bet it will never be this guy.

Clarke- Yeh prolly needs to be rested for the rest of the finals and the NZ tour as well.

Still I think this thread is an overaction even though i've answered everything. We lose one match when we're clearly tinkining for the right balance to be right for the World cup. This series is not crucial and I think the selectors are seeing it that way by having Watson and Hogg in the team.

Agree that it was a bad move. It reeked of trying to get him some match practice before the World Cup, rather than picking your best team for a final.
 
Bracken should of bowled at the death

Playing a guy first back in a final is stupid

Leaving Tait our was also stupid - we could of used his pace

Actually, how about we drop everyone?

Watson can't bowl? Is that the same Watson who has just come back from injury, and in his last 20 ODIs has a bowling average of sub-23. That Shane Watson?

And Brad Hogg, the man who hasn't put a foot wrong for Australia since he's been in the side? The man who has played two one dayers this series when he quite clearly deserves more? Who would you replace him with? Hauritz? Cullen? Casson?

Adam Gilchrist, one of the finest opening batsmen in one day cricket and probably the best wicket keeper batsmen in ODI history? Should we drop him for Brad Haddin who has an average of just 24 with the bat in his illustrious one day career, and is only barely competent with the gloves.

We have lost two matches in an entire summer. TWO! It isn't as if we are being pounded every game, nay, we have only lost two games.

You people are acting as if the entire side is playing like absolute ********, when in all reality they are doing what human people do. No being completely perfect.
