The Sole Survivor arrived on the scene, overlooking the smoke covered sky above the bombed out city, his bombed out city. With his faithful friend Dogmeat beside him, the S.S tightened his grip on the Deliverer in his hand, lowering his eyes to the road down below, winding slowly closer to the spine tingling sounds of bullets and people. It seemed like the whole world were fighting in that city.

The ruours of an Ancient Weapon had become prominent in all the outposts of civilisation he had passed, grounded in more believable lies in recent days too. If it was there to be found, this could be the breakthrough the S.S needed to recapture the essence of pre-war life, to make everybody see how it used to be. How good we had it back then...

But, if it fell into the hands of others...who knew what devastating effects could be unleashed on what was left of humanity and it's mutated sub-genres. The S.S thought sickeningly of what would happen if even some unwitting Wastelanders somehow came across this monstrosity, and accidentally did something stupid to set it off. Shuddering instinctually, and approaching the louder still sounds of battle, the clouds began to disappear behind broken skyscrapers torn between crumbling down into dust and crashing over into their neighbours.

Thick smoke choked the S.S's lungs.

Dogmeat stopped dead in his tracks, his head bent crooked, ears twitching as if straining to hear something just about to happen.

"What is it, boy?"

The S.S looked quizzically at his companion, before examining the holes and craters around him for signs of trouble, but couldn't find anything awry. Confused, and concerned, The S.S. approached his faithful friend and gave him a scratch behind the ears.

Without any notice or hesitation, Dogmeat began dashing off manically! barking down the empty street...that now, suddenly, wasn't so empty.

Oh...stuff this, The S.S thought as he caught a glimpse of a of some Raiders exiting actual working doors of a less decrepit building a mere thirty paces from where he stood. Ducking for cover behind a half collapsed wall, with one final, forlorn look to the whereabouts of his companion, who had long since vanished from view, he clenched the grip on his Cryolater and listened to the loud, gruff voices on the street, attempting to psyche himself up enough to peek round the corner...

Day 1 had begun.

Amendments/Clarifications:
- The Deathclaw Win Condition has been increased to staying alive until the Final Four and eliminating all factions
- The Neutrals trying to join a Faction will not be able to if the person they tried to contact overnight also dies overnight.
- Neutrals and Factions will not know of each other's roles and names until they successfully join/affect that Faction.

I had heard about that glitch. The cryolater is the weapon locked away in the bunker the SS starts in right?

I'm half convinced the glitches in Bethesda games are meant to be used, why would they keep them in otherwise?

I haven't play as far as the settlement portion of the game yet. Never really found the time to just sit there and play it. I don't use glitches in Bethesda games btw, I personally don't see the point.

TSG's post proceeded tgrs, but seems to correlate with it. IIRC the OP doesn't mention Megaton? Does TSG have info or was it an unfortunate coincidence?

What does farming that get you? I may not use glitches myself but I'm always curious about them, maybe one day I will.

I haven't play as far as the settlement portion of the game yet. Never really found the time to just sit there and play it. I don't use glitches in Bethesda games btw, I personally don't see the point.

Er...you can start the 'settlement portion' straight after Concord which is only about an hours playtime
