I've been upgraded from Goodie to Goddie, I like it

Naturally I rate my team the highest, but here's how I rank the others:

Shameless (Would probably compete with my team the best)
L_W_P (Very close second, midfield's a little shaky, but that's a very impressive backline)
AussieThunda (Good strong team, but your bookends are ancient)
StKMan (Another good backline but let down by the forwards)
StKMan2 (Some fine players but a popgun forward line)
GoddardisGod (Too many questions over your backs, can Staker, Silvagni & Tambling stand up, can Waite not get suspended)
AussieThunda2 (With the exception of Grundy, not sold on the spine.)
Andolate (Some good pick-ups but returning from injury, Maguire, Petrie, Raph, Otten. Morton's not a full forward, Enright's not a CHB.)

All opinions, feel free to disagree but doubt you'll change my mind

I think StKMan2 has the best team except his forwards are crap. Lets him down completely. Imagine having such a strong defence that you have Glass as an emergency and Troy Chaplin as a reserve outside your best 25

(1) Goodie23 has the best all round team - there are many better defences than his but the players he has chosen can adapt to several roles

(2) L_W_P has the second best all round team

(3) AussieThunda is my pick for third best

Yea i agree they are ancient but remember we never decided on what we were basing it all on. Was never mentioned at the start that we were basing anything on this years results.

On AT2 im not a fan of that side either, had nothing to play with when i took over as i had way too many forwards and no backs or mids.

Fair point, but I drafted for the long term anyway. All my starting 22 are under 30, the entire team would be if I didn't pick up Ottens as a bargain pick to play a King-type mentor role.

I do like your team, there are a few players in there I wanted (Le Cras, Hurn, Gray for starters). But if Bradshaw or Fletcher go down, and they're more likely to at their age, you'll really struggle to cover them. Your emergencies, reserves and half your bench are quite raw, with a little more key position depth I might've listed you #1.

AT2, there were still some backs on the table. I'd start Ben Reid at fullback well ahead of Gibson who's been punching above his weight for some time and Bate (and Podsiadly) are better CHF candidates than Hawkins. Plus it's not helped by my dislike of Bubblehead Hall.

Yea position depth would have been handy, but honestly i was kinda over it after my initial starting 18 and then just picked players I knew or who i first came across that was available :o:o:o
I guess the selection of Bradshaw was forced as all the good key forwards were snapped up early so thought he could help out the young guns in Stanley, Henderson & Dixon. Can also throw Fraser up forward if injuries strike. Actually looking at my list i really have no backup key defenders :eek:

With AT2 i didnt bring any forwards in, they were all auto selected before i took over and I couldnt bring myself to bring in any Collingwood players. :D

StKMan - Thank you so much for taking this back over hehe Work has been chaotic this last week.:o:(

As much as I would like to vote for myself I actually don't think I've ended up with the best team.

My vote has gone to Goodie23.

The only change I would make would be to switch Morris and Fisher as I really don't rate Morris as a key defender. It may be a little bit of bias because we get to watch Roo tear him up every time we play but I think it would look just that little bit better with Fish at CHB.

Big thanks to everyone involved. It was a car crash at times but we got there in the end. Awards will be given out at the end of the year and I'll work out a better structure for the draft and playing guidelines for 2012.

Until then folks - Gooooooooooooooo the mighty SAINTERS!!!!!

 Seems this has been forgotten.

At this stage its a 3 way tie between

Shameless
Goodie23
Aussiethunda :thumbsu::thumbsu::p;):cool::D:):rolleyes:

I suggest maybe a new poll with only those 3 choices??

Aussiethunda looks like the winner, has good midfield depth and solid everywhere else. Shameless lucked out with N. Brown

Depends how you look at it, some people might have been voting based on past efforts breeding future success, others on that dreaded P word in potential and others again merely for 2011 and thus haven't voted since the season hasn't started proper yet for anyone to "win".

A season ending injury to a single player does not then ruin a team unless you define the context of the choices made.

I voted with aussie based on potential. Just waiting for Kerr, Higgins and Gray to get injured. If they manage to stay on the park for the season. Exciting things should happen.
