Im happy to if people were comfortable with thatBut tbh it doesnt bother me, just as long as we have all the rules aligned.
I was actually going to create a league on UF just to muck around with the settings with byes and all. Last year with 3 byes and 4 games of finals in a 10 man league there were 16 fixtures if you skipped the byes, which is what we did.
This year there are 2 lots of bye rounds meaning that there will only be 13 fixture games this year if you decide to not have match ups during the bye rounds. I was going to see if there was an option where for the bye rounds a reduced team can be fielded, say 18 players instead of the 22 for these rounds to make it a lot easier for everyone, and leaving a total of 19 match ups so you get to play everyone twice at least.
Tbh I hate drafting my team according to who misses what bye rounds and making sure you have a full strength team, which is why we decided to skip the rounds last year. Obviously it takes a lot more skill and preparation having to draft a suitable team that wont be slaughtered during these rounds, but I personally think it takes half the fun out of drafting aspect of the game. Id rather just draft the players I want rather than trying to plan 7 million years aheadAlso one or 2 long term injuries to your players and you can throw literally all that hard work and preparation in the bin and prepare for a beating
But considering it will mean only having 13 fixtures Im happy to put in a work around to play through these 2 bye rounds is others are? If UF doesnt have a feature where we can field reduced teams, Im thinking maybe for that week we could all agree to field a reduced team with equal players on both sides. Obviously this means that emergencies can be played as they will cover these empty spots on your team, so better put your safest team forward or else tough love.
Definitely keen to atone for last year.Maybe we should write it like this. Edit this as you please to add you names

Is that 6 confirmed?
When are we thinking of doing this? I'd prefer to try to get it all done in one sitting if possible. I'd say either 1 or 2 minute picks. And are we going with DangerSloane suggestion of high 20's players each?
Best nights for me are after 8 on Weds, thurs, but I can try to work around if those days can't be done.
If we had 25 players each (6 (2), 8 (2), 2 (1), 6 (2)) at 1 minute time limits, that's a finish before 12 if we start at 8.Anytime after 8 is good for me also.
We just drafted and dealt with the bye rounds when they came along.
Usually you're not going to get too badly screwed because if you've only got 10 players available for 1 bye round, u know you're going to have full strength in the other two.
10 with a squad of approx 27-28 players is perfect.

Also on dates, needs to be after preseason shamozzle, so March 5 or 6?

Having 8 players on your bench in total comes in handy when you have injuries trust me, and allows you to hold onto your best players when they get those 6-12 week injuries without sacrificing the rest of your team. It also gives you greater maneuverability with your line up come the dreaded bye rounds. Up to you guys though

I didnt realise UF doesn't do tradesOkay well I made an error on my behalf. The bye rounds are 8, 9 and 10. We can elect to do 3 things.
1) play through them normally
2) skip them and have weeks off
3) make an agreement to field reduced sides.
The are no bye rounds later on in the year, it is in fact a split round in round 18 I think it was. That means there will still be 16 fixtures during the normal season and 4 weeks of finals.
Im happy to play through them. Its just with a game like UF you dont have trades. You may need to delist a handful of half decent players through the bye period if you need to win and it can really mess with your squad, especially if you have injuries. But in saying that, the bye rounds could really make the competition interesting and prompt some list turn over and some gem free agents. Im happy with either.
Thats 29 players, may as well make it 30
Btw im in no way trying to come on here and lay everything out straight and say we have to play a certain way, but a league of 10 with 30 players worked well last year. Just trying to throw plenty of options out there, but this will mainly be decided on how many people we have playing. As ive said previously though, we kept the system exactly like DT so 22 on the field with 4 emergencies and 4 reserve players, bearing in mind these bench players can be of any position you like, so if you want to draft 8 rserve rucks then go nutsHaving 8 players on your bench in total comes in handy when you have injuries trust me, and allows you to hold onto your best players when they get those 6-12 week injuries without sacrificing the rest of your team. I didnt realise UF doesn't do tradesNot sure if I like it or not...
What i meant with team sizes was 6(2), 6(2), 2(1), 6(2) I wasn't thinking straight when I posted before. 25 per team.
So you're saying that your emergencies can fill anywhere?

But you can drop players and pick up free agents, yeah? So it's pretty much the same isn't it?
Whats the go folks?
Does the league commisioner want to put forward some voting options.
Something like this:
Platform:
A: Ultimate Footy
B: Supercoach
C: AFL Dream team
Draft Type:
1: Live online
2: Half-half (One night of lots of drafting, then slow draft to complete the process)
3: Slow draft
Squad:
X: 18 on field, 4 emergencies 4 bench
Y: 21 on field, 4 emergencies 4 bench
Bye Rounds:
Yes
No
Etc...and if everyone replies with their preference we will be a lot closer to being able to set up the league.
For example mine would be: A, 1, Y, Yes
