Anyone got any thoughts on wicketkeeping combos? Paine, Haddin, Dunk, Whiteman, Nevill, Peirson are the standout options for me.

Im in, hard to know who to pick considering national duties
Went Ludeman and Whiteman.
first ive heard of Russell. can you explain a little more of what happened with him?I'm glad there are two major comps this year, can run slightly different strategies. SC is tricky with only two AR slots, makes the bowling hard to pick and reduces flexibility, so a bit more caution is required. Glad to see injuries and Aussie selection is causing havoc with starting lineups already also. I reckon Watto, Henriques, Maddinson, Wade & Bird all would have been near-locks and now can't be picked (not sure if Henriques is going to be available?). Now the two biggest locks have to be Cummins and Russell, and both of them have clouds over them with Cummins sniffing around the test team (although unlikely to get a run this summer), and Russell facing a possible two year ban from WADA (apparently likely to be cleared). Chaos is good.

im thinkingSo, Strikers. How do they lineup, who do you consider? Double round first up followed by a bye in Rd 2 means that you should start with at least 2 but no more than 4.
Weatherald/Simmons Weatherald has been killing it, aggressive opening bat, basement price.
Dunk Big Bash hero, but has been in rubbish form all year. Might enjoy Adelaide.
Head Gun bat, handy bowler, good fielder. Pick him.
Hodge Too old for me. 4-5 is no mans land in fantasy Big Bash, unless you also bowl.
Lehman Good player, too far down the order.
Pollard Considering, especially in the fantasy comp.
Carey/Ludeman Which one will play? Where will they bat? Both worth considering if in the side.
Jordan Filling in for Adil Rashid who is on test duty with England. Good player, could go well.
Richardson Probably the only bowler guaranteed a game. I'm strongly considering.
Laughlin/Neser Is laughlin fit? Neser has been going well for QLD, not sure who gets a game here.
Holland The only specialist spinner, and has been going well. May be worth picking.
Agar Could get a game at some point. Probably won't start.
Stanlake I think he's injured?
Dean Only ever pops up around Big Bash time, won't get enough games to consider.
Kelvin Smith Probably not in the Xl.
That's my best run at it. For me it's Head, Dunk, Weatherald, Pollard and Richardson who should be strongly considered, while Jordan, Holland, and Ludeman/Carey could all be good picks.
Haddin and Dougie are the only 2 i have so farSixers: Double to start, and then a game each round until a bye in round 6, so plenty of time to trade them out. Can start with up to 5, although more than 4 players from one team is pushing it (I reckon pick a top order bat, an all-rounder, a bowler, and a keeper or another batsman from each side).
Roy Absolute stud who has broken out on the international stage, can't go wrong with him.
Billings As above. Pick one or both of these English guns.
Haddin Aussie legend, who knows if he still has it, but it's slim pickings amongst the keepers so consider strongly.
Henriques Racing the clock to be fit (side strain), if playing is an absolute must-have.
Hughes/Maddinson Maddinson looks likely to be on test duty. Hughes is cheap and in good knick, worth considering.
Silk/Carters Hard to pick either batting at 6, although Silk is fit again and has shown an ability to finish.
Botha Now an Aussie, Johan scored a ton (off 40 odd balls), took a hat-trick and 5-fer in the same game recently. Consider.
Abbott/Dwarshuis Both good young bowling all-rounders, both battling injury. Steer clear.
O'Keefe Good bowler, decent bat, doesn't take my fancy though.
Mennie Should be guaranteed a game, I like his chances of grabbing wickets.
Bollinger/Bird If Jackson is playing, pick him. If he's on test duty, Dougy will bowl his heart out and could go well.
Halewood, Starc, Lyon will all be on test duty.
There you go. I'd pick Maddinson and Bird if available, but seeing as they'll likely be with the test team I'm looking at both Roy and Billings, maybe Haddin, Henriques if fit (if not maybe Botha), and Mennie. Bollinger, O'Keefe, Hughes and perhaps Silk all have merit as low-priced players who could go well.
Why is Lehmann so cheap? I'm sure he played BBL last season.
And here is a final write-up on the non-double round players that I'll be looking at starting with (probably on my bench).
BATS
McCullum: Not sure if he's played much cricket, but obviously this is his best format and he could do anything.
Bell: Class. Will bat early and will play some pretty cricket on a fast pitch at The Furnace.
Klinger: As above.
Burns: Hurting from his test omission, is a class above at domestic level, but is not necessarily a T20 player.
White: Been in magic form and has a double round in round 3. I'm keen.
Ferguson: The one-test wonder is all class and is super cheap. Don't write him off.
Sangakarra: Cheap. Super Cheap. Great of the game. Is he past it? Hard to ignore at his price.
Harris: Has been in good form for Victoria and should get plenty of opportunity at his new side. Could be good POD.
Also KP, Voges, Finch, S Marsh, Bailey, Ross are all quality.
ALL-ROUNDERS
Maxwell: Will have a point to prove and shouldn't have to worry about batting too far down the order. Should tear it up. Bye to start.
Bravo: One of the best T20 players in history, he's hard to ignore. Double in rd 3.
Willey: Quality young player with a double in round 3, yes please.
Wright: T20 star. Doesn't bowl much these days. Bye rd 1.
M Marsh: My pick to tear the Big Bash to pieces this year. Cheap.
Faulkner: Cheap. Gun. Can't ignore. TOO MANY ALL ROUNDERS!
Others include Turner, Agar, Cartwright for the Scorchers who have all been in good form and should get their chance to shine throughout the tournament.
KEEPERS
With Wade looking like being on Aussie duty throughout the tournament, this list is short.
Paine: Went well last year, costs a lot but every chance he tops the scoring charts again.
Whiteman: Quality young player who has yet to fully breakout. This could be his time. Double in rd 3, very cheap.
Nevill: Hurting from being dropped from the test team. Limited batsmen in this format, probably not the best scorer.
BOWLERS
Pattinson: Absolute stud who struggles to stay on the park. If he's playing he can't be ignored.
Behrendorff: Deadly yorker, Starc-like ability. Possibly injured again.
Narine: Gun spinner who seems to have his action back in order. Could dominate.
Tye: T20 specialist with every slower ball in the book, and a great beard. Smoky.
Zampa: Very good at T20, maturing all the time. Might be limited by ODI duties.
Broad: Has been struggling with injury, but a quality cricketer who might offer a bit more consistency than Darren Sammy did.
Boland: Fast. Good. Slipped off the Aussie radar so should be available all tournament.
MJ: Hard to know how he'll go after so long out of the game, but expect fireworks.
Cutting, Badree, Boyce, Tait, Siddle, Tremain, Hogg, Doherty: Any of these players could put in a good performance at any stage and prove to be great value.
I'm sure there are other worthy picks out there, but it's hard to go past any of these players.
Harder to pick when you've never heard of 3/4 of the players
That's okay. That just improves the odds for the rest of us!The annoying thing is that in all rounds some teams play an extra game so you need to be stacked then trade out to bring in the next team with extra games. I'm not sure I have the patience...
Nice work with your assessments fantasyunit. You've put a lot of effort in there, and you obviously have a good knowledge of the players and the comp.
I think we're already in a league together. May I ask the name of your team?
