Anyone know what type of money these former players get to play at a club like Romsey?

Just interested as to what clubs in different leagues can pay to players.

Farmer gave it a go, but sadly failed to cut it at the highest level.

This being said, apparently that's not enough for some here, he needs to disappear and never kick a sherrin again

Also not enough that he lost his job, for some there is still the need to keep on kicking him in the guts

We picked him, not the other way around. We sacked him, not the other way around. Given this, why is he a piece of scum not worthy of playing for Romsey?

Personally I'm happy when any former afl player goes back to the local leagues to do there thing. Wish more would do it.

agree with your general sentiment, but where did this come from

This is BS. Velcro was invented by Fev's Mum after her wool scarf got stuck to her moustache, everyone knows that.

Yeah but you convienently forgot that Farmer was at the Fevola house at that precise time and brilliantly deduced velcro properties as a result of fusion between Maria Fevola's mo and wool scarf.

There aint anything that Mr Mitch Farmer cannot do...Romsey will indeed go back to back

Read some of the posts on this tread and other Farmer threads across the various forums.

Here people are talking like he'll be a liability, slow and fat, at Romsey. Not an afl side, a SANFL one, or even one of the more powerful of the local sides, but at Romsey. With all due respect to Romsey, it's hardly a side brimming with elite athletes.

Farmer had a shocking run with injury, yet got blasted for not being 100% fit. Got abused for the way he played, but Hardwick on several occasions said he was one of the sides most coachable players and at following instruction. His body wasn't up to the challenge of afl, not the first, and not the last. Far from a great player, but gave it a shot and doesn't deserve the mocking some like to give him

Maybe, but when does the piss taking stop?

The guy is no longer at the club, yet we are not happy to move on?

Don't get me wrong, I get being angry and frustrated at some former players. Taylor and Tambling, and the things they said about the club after they walked. The way certain players with talent to burn have pissed it up the wall drinking piss and chasing skirt instead of training (and we have had a fair few of these recently). Being angry and pissed at these guys I get. I don't get it for those who tried bloody hard, but just didn't have the talent/body needed in afl these days.

Depends if he is chasing the money or he is willing to pay for a good amount (cash) and play with mates. It's probably the latter.
Romsey is a cashed up club for that particular league but there is obviously better clubs with more money that could be thrown to Mitch (EFL & EDFL).

On a slightly related topic Jarrod Silvester is also playing in the same league for Riddells Creek. I believe he was playing SAFL last season so that's a big signing for the RDFL too.
