lol now this truly sums up richmond of the last 30 yrs. it doesnt work.

have you not heard that old saying, hmm now how does it go? oh yes; a dud is a dud is a dud. theres absolutely no reason on the planet to keep a known dud none what so ever. you are not going anywhjere with them in fact you just reamain mired in mediocrity.

chop 6 duds and replace them with 6 potential duds you at least are doing something different. find just one decent player and your in front.

This may b a dud question but we hav probally 15 or so known duds do we apply that theory in one shot or do ya do it over a couple of seasons?

Definitely don't rate the guy at this stage (although I was wrong about Rance and from the last two games, Angus). Does far more bad things then good, really needs a boot up the butt

Not sure if you missed his game saving tackle? Regardless of what you think of the guy he pretty much saved us the game at that time with he and Deledio laying some ripping tackles when all it took was a cheeky handball over the top and Melbourne would of scored.

And I actually thought this was one of his better games for the year, not that the bar is very high at the moment but he didn't look slow and did some nice things in close and his tackling was superb all day.
 
Yeah, that one tackle was the only thing he did all day, and if he didn't basically gift the few goals in the first half it would have looked much better.

I can't exactly diss Angus at the moment but he somehow does the 'game saving' mark every week. Plays a poor game and then somehow gets a good grab in the last quarter and kicks truely.

The one mark, tackle or goal a game that is 'game saving' usually doesn't add up to a good game.

he may of saved us the game in the end, but he cost us atleast 1 or 2 goals earlier on in the game in defence, he is just way to slow.. struggles with 2nd and 3rd efforts.. I just cant see how we can keep him going forward.

The kid constantly turns it over when there's little to no pressure on him. Experience or no experience, that stuff is unforgivable.
 
God he was so bad. When I went to pre-season training when we first traded for him, he was the one player that I noticed, and not in a good way.

He fumbled so much.
His hands are so hard they're like diamonds.
He is slow.
He is unaccountable.

The coaching staff seem to love him. FML.
 
I reckon he'll be delisted too. If not, considering he's got a big body, and lacks pace, would it be worth attempting to turn him into an inside mid? He's got Diesel's body shape, if nothing else :D

Yes we've all been this path before , the ability to inconstantly stuff up I'm afraid is something you have to cope with , whilst players gain experience and Farmer's disposal is inconstant , his best is simply brilliant worst is terrible , not that disimilalr to our whole sides ability .
Just don't got out on a limb on this bloke , might just prove a few very very wrong , could also be axes ?:eek:;):thumbsu:

Problem for Farmer is that he's out of contract, and we will likely need to delist half a dozen or so at years end.

Fair point , however we have not had a decent back pocket for 20 years , they either can't kick or are complete squibs , he can kick and IMO acts like a bloke who has not seen a girl nude in the company of a stripper !
We've given time to others and it's the one position during the past ' REBUILDS ' that we've massively failed in . Should he be able to hold down BP Newman , Lids or Houli can rotate as wingman which would be a huge win !

While the tackle was awesome he hesitated and allowed the dee's bloke to get the ball. If he charged thru and grabbed the ball it would have been a great piece of play as it was great tackle but had the ball slipped forward it would have been a goal to his opponent who had slipped forward.

Even his best footy is only servicable, he's a foot soldier at best, and usually is well below that. You seem defend him a lot, and I'm all for giving players a chance, but this is the guys second club, and he hasn't shown enough to suggest he's worth persisting with. Sometimes you have to make the strong and harsh calls, he is a waste of a spot on the list. Port Adelaide did, and they are benefitting from the trade.

Some delistings are hard, this one is easy. Will not make it. Delist and replace with a kid who might make it.
