I wonder how much extra running work foley did on his own, by his own admission he used to be a grab and hack player, now he jets through packs with ease. captain material and I won't stop saying it till it happens.Would be interested to see Deledio v Foley in a sprint. Deledio would probably win, but damn Foley is fast when he's on the break.

Foley looks damn quick off the mark but I think deledio would have more top end. I think this is why Foley breaks and clears packs so well, that initial burst of speed and power when he first gets the pill.
Breakdowns over the first ten and twenty metres count the most in Australian Rules. No one rarely runs flat chat for a hundred metres without having to bounce a ball. Most of the tests at draft camp consist of short bursts:
Quickest over the first 25m or so would have to be:
Deledio
Pearce
Judd
Jeter
Goodes
Both Daveys
Foley
Betts
Peake
J. Lewis
Who else?
not even close Wojcinski Tambling, Jon, Dale Morris, Lovett, Wells, Krakouer(port)
J.Lewis is not quicknot even close
Goodes also isnt super quick off the mark but has a big stride, hard to catch when hes motoring. Betts is slippery not that quick.
Betts and Lewis are in fact very quick. They actually use their pace to close in on opponents and make ball and all tackles that win the ball back. Can't say the same for Tambling, JON and Lovett.
Goodes is the only player from Sydney who can match it with Judd. No, no, you're right it must just be his big stride.

Lewis is fast between the ears. Similar to Selwood at geelong.
Leg speed wise he isnt as fast as the guys mentioned.
It may sound stupid but tamblings current problem is he is too fast. Needs to slow down and stop trying so hard.
Sorry Calcium Man but i have to disagree there, IMO he needs to try a heck of a lot harder.
watch him closely mate dont just say he needs to try harder because he isnt doing wellSorry Calcium Man but i have to disagree there, IMO he needs to try a heck of a lot harder.
