Really? Mine too!

first of all hiphop is more of a sport and culture rather then just music. people have their favourite rapper based on either their talent or they can relate to them. A good MC will pracitise their skills just as much as a football trains for a weekend sport.

I can understand ur pessimistic attitude towards rap as all you have prob heard is the gangsta rap from the united states (and radio tracks at that). Get your hands on some talented Australian Hiphop album like "The Calling - Hilltop Hoods" and listen to the lyrics and the talent those guys have.
