I miss footy. However, l am realy looking forward to see the team under Leppitch, l hope Aish and Taylor and maybe Gardiner gets regular games
At best I can see Aish playing 12 and Taylor playing 6 - that is a top result IMO.

I refuse to choose one, I love them all. It's like being asked who your favourite child is.

My youngest daughter is my favourite child.

Black's retirement has opened up a spot as my favourite Lion. Mayes is the short priced favourite but I'm not willing to call it yet. Golby, Hanley, Lester and Zorko still in the hunt.

Completely agree......or is it agree completely......suffice to say that I agree....

Who is the favourite player of TheBrownDog

Just to clarify, l don't mean is he a number 1 at present time, l mean in the future.

I think he will be our CHB for a long time to come. I imagine that opposition coaches will he looking to move their tall players around to avoid him but whether he plays on their best or second best may be dependant on how the other guys line up.
Clarke at CHB and Bourke at FB is how I see it long term.

Cheers buddy.
Wouldn't Gardiner line up on FB as well or one of the other defenders we got in this draft?

I don't know Gardiner, as a well credentialed draftee he is probably figured to have more upside than Bourke, but I think Jordon gave a good account of himself in the Neafl last year and would be a player I think the club is hoping might be ready to be elevated at the end of 2014.

My favourite player and idol was Simon Black and now that he has retired, Pearce Hanley is my favourite with Daniel Rich in close second.

During the North game (following a couple of euphoric moments) I declared I'd be getting a No.11 on my next guernsey.

Rich/Merrett/Patfull tied for 2nd.

Will always have a soft spot for Patfull having worn his number on my back pretty much since Mal Michael's defection. Rich and Hanley provide genuine excitement, and Merrett's just an all round great bloke (who's pretty handy onfield too).

It's worth noting I'll also be all over the Sam Michael bandwagon when it's properly up and running.

post merger it was Ashcroft then Power (cause I played juniors with him) in 2011 I thought it would be Patty K, oops sorry for swearing.

But now I reckon lester. Just love his work rate. I could see Archie Smith being up there in a few years.

Just wondering with Clarke, Is he a number 1 defender (defends the best forward) or more of a 2nd defender.
If he is not a number 1 defender, who would be our future number 1?
Clarke is 42.:p

No one should wear number 1 again:p

I see Justin Clarke as a mini-Joel Patfull. While he might have 5cm on Joelly, he's got a similar body shape and will probably end up just as fast. If he can learn to read the play anywhere near as well as Joel can (and with Joel teaching him, he could very well surpass his mentor) then he will be a very, VERY dangerous replacement for our Club Champion (who I correctly predicted would have two Club Champion wins in a row, because I am Just. That. GOOD).
