Yeah I do know that but he was argueing against the idea that teams got hammered delararing in the 3rd inings on batting tracks but it still happened back then.

Teams are experimenting with some different strategies & it's hard to know what works best, rather than the copycat tactics of last season.

This draw/dodgy declerations have some from your stupid idea of having 2 all rounders playing all the time. 20 runs off 100 balls is killing this game.

Before it was great, only about 10% of declerations were won by the team chasing, now its alot more.

Look don't get your knickers in a twist, I just stumbled on this thread looking for somethign else & I see that I'm concerned about dodgy declarations, which you told me didn't exist at the time but they did, & you're taking the opposite view.

And now here we are, I couldn't give stuff about them & you're the one who's concerned.


And champ the allrounders have made only a slight difference to the chance of the dodgy declaration, when sides pack out their batting it's always a chance.

You're a mug if you keep picking batting tracks, unless you can be pretty sure what side the opposition will pick.

Look at the current BB v Victoria game, Victoria have had a great first day atm looking at the BB side I'd expect Victoria to win well but they could get caught out by batting first, BB have a bat of batting & could pull it off, it's the chance that you take.

Every pitch has it's risks, bowlers pitches tend to be a leveler & you can get caught out playing against crap sides & normal pitches run the risk of the draw.It's all part of the game.

You can go on about 2 allrounders, but your prefered way of playing was 2 allrounders, the way you selected your squad it's clear that you expected to play 6 pure bats, 1 a/r, 1np bowler & 2 pure bowlers for every Test, it worked for the first couple of games but then you got caught out & now you're having a cry.Here's a hint.......don't go for batting tracks every time.

The game is supposed to allow a strong batting side to win, not to draw or have declarations every game.

The two allrounder rule has limited captains choice of pitches and bowling attack. It's just plain stupid.
