Dubai semi. Fed on a 39 match streak meets Haas who is on a good streak of his own in the semis. Should be good really should be the match of the tournament and Tommy has nothing to lose. Fed has dropped a set in round of 32 and round of 8 so he is perhaps slightly rusty after his lay off and this could be interesting.

Federer actually lost a set! From all reports it sounded as though he played quite poorly, by his standards anyway. And yet he still managed to win.

Mikhail Youzhny beat Nadal 7-6, 6-3. Still shaking off the rust no doubt, but Youzhny’s in top form.

I can't imagine anyone beating Federer at the moment, but Haas is not without a chance. I saw him play against Roddick last week and he looked in good touch. Will need all the planets to align though.

Sounds like it could be a ripper of a match, Hass when on his game is one player that can beat Federer.
Would love to see it, but won't be getting Foxtel installed untill next week:(

Well Haas gave it a go but Fed is getting back into the groove now after his break. Dropping the set to Djokovic meant he had a game and that sharpened him. He's probably exactly where he wants to be going into Indian Wells where the season hits top gear.

Not on Fox mate so you haven't missed out. I can't ever remember Fox broadcasting a mens European tournament (obviously Dubai isn't europe) outside of the French Open, Wimbledon or Masters Series events. Disappointing when they give us semi-finals and finals of these events in the US, despite the fact the fields are usually stronger in Europe at this time of year.

Someone beat Federer... this is just crazy. This guy is just SO dominant its not funny any more. Even on bad days, he finds a way to win.

Yes business as usual. 41 not out. I think the thing to do is not worry about the competitiveness or his dominance and just enjoy a player who will be remembered as the greatest whilst he is at his very best which he now is. There is competitive interest in which of the kids - Monfils, Murray etc - will break into top 5 or whether nadal is safe at number 2 but for federer..... Just sit back and enjoy if you are a tennis fan.
