One game in almost a year and a half suggests he isn’t sucking up to the morons at St Kilda either.

He's played about 8 games for Casey over the past two years and is competing with Riewoldt, Gehrig and Koschitzke for a spot. Do you expect a 20 year-old tall forward we got for pick 17 to get a game ahead of those guys?

playin with injuries probally from the longer seasons the swans have, we don't have a replacement for him cause we didn't tank it for years for draft picks

1990
1991
1992
1993
1994
1995

= 28 wins and 3 straight wooden spoons

what did they tank it for then?

Its plain and simple if this bloke was good enough he would be playing now. So he kicked 10 goals in a game in the SANFL, i agree great effort but 1 good game doesnt make a career. He is too slow. He got to big to quick, rest of his body couldnt keep up. But he will be a Luke Jericho type, just staying on the list doing f**k all for years.

put him in and prove that he's a Luke Jerico then not hang onto Gehrig when your going no where with him. And yes im the first person to say Hall is struggling but who else is has potential in the swans to play his position. Fergus Watts is more of a Courtney Johns

If this bloke hadn't been injured for 18 months then he would have played about 15 more games. He is still a chance of playing a few senior games this year once he gets his fitness back up.

And how the hell do you grow so much that your body can't keep up? Last time I checked your body is the thing that grows.

It was in regards to his speed and agility. Most able minded people would understand that or people who know a little about footy. He has no speed and has a turning circle of a mack truck.
Go through the backmen on each team and see who he could beat. Because of his size he would play on a big defender. Ill rattle a few off for you, Fletcher, Scarlett, Egan, Glass, Hunter, Barry, Bolton, Harris, Grant, Michael, Clement, Maxwell, Basset, Rutton and there is plaenty more......he would not get near these blokes and if he is going to be our full forward he will have to play on these guys. Fraser will retire end of the year and Ferg is not the answer.

Well, I would like to see a bit of him at AFL level before making any judgements.

However, with Gehrig probably retiring at the end of the season, it leaves the club with a few options for replacing him.

1. Koschitzke at FF, Gardiner & Rix in the ruck.
2. Gardiner at FF, Koschitzke & Rix in the ruck.
3. Brooks at FF, Gardiner & Koschitzke in the ruck.
4. Watts at FF, Gardiner & Koschitzke in the ruck.
5. Another player already at the club at FF (eg Sam Gilbert, Jarryd Allen)
6. A player currently not at the club at FF

What would be the best option, remembering Koschitzke can only play one position at a time, when he is on the park.

Ever thought about Sam Fisher up forward probally not ff but it's got to be better than Gardiner. West Coast lost grand final cause they played him ff. He was drafted as a forward.

Once Gardiner can get fully fit he is our answer in the ruck with Rix and Koschitske to pinch hit. Would love to see Kosi at full forward. Roo at CHF and kick it long long long. If we get the ball to ground that when Milne will fire.

He kicked five majors for Casey last match. If he doesn't get picked this week, it would seem Ross doesn't rate him for future plans.

Agreed.

Watts was not named again - a little unlucky. Thoughts? After five goals last week.

I would have liked to see him get a game tonight.

Especially with Rutten matching up so well against Gehrig and Bassett being out of the side.

I hope he gets a chance in the next 2-3 weeks.

They have no shortage of tall defenders, even with Basset out.

Rutten is the best full back in the competition
Stevens flogged Riewoldt the last time we played them
Massie just slaughtered Franklin

And then at any time they can move Bock or McGregor to defence.

St Kilda have gone with a team that can run all day, and we might get found out for lack of height, but we'll be hoping to exploit Adelaide for a lack of run.

Whether Watts can play or not, I kind of trust the coaching staff to get it right and not listen to us. Things could be worse. We could be coached by Terry Wallace, in which case Watts would be playing just because the supporters are demanding it.

PLAY THE KIDS, PLOUGH!
