BRENDON Fevola has emerged as Victoria's key attacking weapon against the All-Stars, with injuries and suspensions set to rob the team of forward options.
Fevola will be named today in a 40-strong Victorian squad for the May 10 clash at the MCG.
While Fevola's indifferent 2007 for the Blues meant he would have struggled for inclusion, his recent good form and injuries to Matthew Lloyd and Barry Hall mean he looms as the Victorian full-forward.
Hall will miss because of a broken wrist and Lloyd is battling soft-tissue injuries, while the All-Stars will be able to choose from forwards of the calibre of Lance Franklin, Matthew Pavlich, Chad Cornes and Nick Riewoldt.
Fevola and Victorian captain Jonathan Brown loom as the full-forward, centre half-forward combination.
Victorian selectors met late yesterday to confirm their squad, which will be released mid-morning.
It comes as Carlton confirmed yesterday that its drawcard, Chris Judd, was happy to play for Victoria.
Blues football manager Steven Icke said Judd's troublesome groin was in good shape.
"I haven't spoken to him but I am assuming he wants to play. It is going to be a very big game and it will be the best versus the best, so why wouldn't he want to play?" Icke said.
"He is getting back to the top of his fitness, and as you can see from the weekend, to the doomsayers out there who say his groin is no good, you don't finish off a game like that if your groin is sore."
Despite Melbourne's dismal season, several of its players are expected to be named in the Victorian squad, with all clubs represented in the mix.
A raft of Geelong players is expected to be included in both squads, which will be reduced to 30 players on May 4, after Round 7. Players not initially included in the squads can gain entry at this time.

Lol @ Leon Davis even being named in the D/T squad.![]()

Good inclusion...they really need somebody who struggles to play in the big games....maybe he might recapture his GF form!!!![]()

Last thing the AFL needs is Lloyd going dive after dive on the biggest stage in history.Just glad we don't have that many in the team, it allows rest and prevents unneeded injury in a match that is just a spectacle.
Hopefully Juddy and Fev come through uninjured....Judd should put a condition on his inclusion...25% game time please!!
