So, this $100,000 incentive would go into Fevola's yearly salary, or it just a bonus number, not making any effect on the salary cap?
 
The details are quite sketchy, i believe it is an added bonus.

Funny enough no reports of this in the paper , but was a headline on sunrise this morning... had mark riccuito talk about it like 5 times.....

i think its pretty much the opposite, judging from his attitude everything seems to be going okay. was reading an article in the mx yesterday, scott cummings asked him how his contract negotiation were going and if it were too late for him to come to collingwood and he replied, "who wants to play for collingwood?" haha got me laughing on the train

He has been saying he won't comment on his contract until its done.

All that I have heard from him is.

Management will deal with it, I want 3 years, and no management won't accept a clause.

I revisited the Footy Show last night but non-Newman, it still did not grab me however I remember Fev was talking about his contract negotiations (cant give you anymore - someone? I had a pair of Kings at the time)

I like the idea of Fev signing with the club, although i'm still not sure about the club putting a "good boy clause" in his contract. We really must have some room in our salary cap if we are able to put these sort of clauses in there.
 
This is rediculous. What is Fev a child now, that we have to tempt/ bribe him into being a "GOOD BOY". For f&*K sake Fev, stop being greedy, We love you, the Club loves you, you love the club, get the deal done without these bull$h!t bonuses for being a good boy, if this is true. You are now 27/8 years old, with a wife & 2 children. Its time to be NORMAL...

P.s.s IM MORE CONCERNED THAT WE HAVENT SIGNED MURPHY. HURRY UP WITH THAT ALREADY. ITS KILLING ME.

Although its unlikely that he will go anywhere, the mere fact that its dragging on is a worry, and could possibly give other clubs reason to blow up his asking price.

Would have to leave room for it in the cap for the given year(s) it is to be paid.
 
I suspect the "bonus" is most of what he would have got as a pay rise, but instead its more an incentive based deal, but instead of getting bonuses for playing senior games or kicking a certain amount of goals, its for good off-field behaviour.

Many player contracts have bonuses built in. I'm sure salary cap wise we are on top of it.:thumbsu:

I am happy with the incentive, and I am not concerned with how it is "dragging out".. It's only been a week so no big deal imo. If they are still wrangling in a months time then it's time to ask questions.

Give him $700k a year for the next 4, and we may well just end up back there.

Remember, he was in the side when were the worst team in the comp, oberpay him and lose other players and we shoot ourselves in the foot.

There is no doubt Fev could command such money.

There is also no doubt he has been paid extremely well in the past few years, and hasn't always earned it.

We aren't even a top 4 side yet. Some of our highest paid players will need to understand that to win a flag they will have to sacrafice some $$$ in order to keep a good team around them.

If Fev demands his market value, then we risk losing top players in the coming years, ala Dons in the late 90's, and we may not do what we really should be able to do..........much the same as the Dons didn't achieve what they should have.

Lets not learn this lesson the hard way.
 
I used to think that Collingwood would love to get him as a payback coup (Eddy's style IMO) but having seen the Foxtel replay which had a post game interview with Fev (and yet they chop out a minute here and there - mostly bounces, instead of chopping out replays) I was impressed with how much Fev clearly hates the Filth :thumbsu:

Your cap must be super tight if Fev and Judd are getting the money that is be claimed.

It will be interesting to see what the other Carlton players will think of this. Surely this could cause unrest.

Fev is a tricky situation, lose him and you lose goal scoring ability. keep him and you may lose other quality younger players.

No not tight at all. Young side. Judd's was front loaded while our players are young. Fev's on the veterans list in a couple of years and can be backloaded if necessary.

Yep. His third year he will be 30 and will have been on our list for over 10 years so we will only have to count half his pay towards the TPP.
