Fev/Dunstall/Lockett

As a club we should take note of how these 2 greats played football.

1.They rarely moved outside 50

2.The team didnt expect them to play a role they couldnt



Fev is a pure fullforward like these 2 and should never be seen past the centre square ever.
Fev is no Buddy or Pavlich who can play up the ground and be dangerous.
Where is fev most dangerous(wing or ff)?
If the mc make the mistake of putting him up the ground ever again like previous weeks when we got laughed at by other teams we wont win many games.

Funny how the last 2 weeks hes kicked 14 playing out of the square and we have won.
I can handle losing as long as we keep it simple and dont line up like we dont want to win.
Any thoughts ?

Makes sense though when it isn't working, you've got to try something else. If all our ball is being directed to him and he's struggling through lack of form/weight of numbers or what have you, then you've got to look at your options.

With the way St Kilda structure, I think we might struggle to move the ball with any fluency our of defence and through the middle of the ground and as such Fev might struggle to get free. In which case, might be best to play him as a decoy and try get others into the game. If that doesn't work, then option C might be to move Fev further up the ground and open the forward line right up.

Ross Lyon is a very good coach and St Kilda structure very well. Fev's not going to have it as easy as he did the last fortnight against the Lions and Eagles, neither of whom is known for a strong defensive zone. Will be interesting what the MC do to try and combat it - it's a gameplan we've struggled with in the past, this season included.

He played out of the square against Freo too. Sometimes you have to try things with Fev to save him from himself.
