Fev growing on anyone else?

Did you read my OP?, i said i was more impressed with the ABC interview, didn't i? and with the rainbow thing, i'll leave that to you to work out.

True. But you also brought the TFS interview up in the OP. It's certainly relevant to the discussion. Whats the need for the sarcasm?

WTF? i didn't start any sarcasm, i simply started a thread and that 'guy' stated (awwe you see a FS interview and now you want him blah blah blah) or words to that effect, in coloured writing mind you as if his points were important, i simply replied 'did you actually read my OP', in coloured writing, yet, you're accussing me of sarcasm? maybe you should re read the thread dude.

Ok, we're getting off topic. I'm guessing to come here and start a thread you're probably already a passionate Collingwood supporter .. no need for people to get aggro. Save it for saturday! :D

If Hall and Cousins got a second chance, so should Fev. Having said that, if I was in the position to look at him, I wouldn't.
While i agree people deserve a second chance, he had his second chance at Brisbane.
Add to that he will only play 1, maybe 2 years, is he worth the risk?

I think Eddie is still a personal mentor to Fev & at the end of 09', we had an inquiry into him. Swann wouldn't trade him to Collingwood.

He is a headcase no doubt but in Brisbane, without his family network, he was always going to struggle. He got injured, blew out & went off the rails when Brisbane did. At Carlton, for years he was allowed to do what he wanted & that club were a rabble until Judd turned around things.

Can seriously play & you would absolutely salivate with Swan, Thomas, Pendlebury, Ball & co feeding him the ball. At a club like Collingwood, who has a good network off the field & senior players such as Pendlebury, Ball & co who are fantastic mentors, you could turn around his offield antics.

I want him at Collingwood, the bloke is a star. He wont be able to ruin the team stability, they are a strong bunch and he will have to fit in. He would be our best goal kicker and be playing for minimum wage. I think he has changed and will be hungry to redeem himself after missing out this year.

For a flag? yes IMO, even if it's a 20% chance he's reformed, he will cost us nothing, minimum wage, if he ****s up good bye, nothing lost on our end, but, if he takes his chance he will improve us, he will improve any team.

Perhaps a loss of sponsors, loss of players, drop in culture around the club, a lot of media negativity and pressure on the club. You know with Fev you don't just get a player. And simply delisting him it wouldn't be that easy. No club wants that.

And what exactly did he do to blow that second chance at Brisbane?...oh thats right, Voss constructed some bullshit to get him turfed after he realised they werent gonna win the flag and had agreed to pay him an outrageous salary.
Im not Fevola's biggest fan but i cant work out what the bloke has done to desearve all the critisim thrown at him. Got pissed at the Brownlow and acted like a dick...thats about it really.
Cousins smoked crack and ran from the cops, yet he got a second chance....Hall has proven that KP players can play well into their mid 30's. Fev might have 4 years left in him.
I dont think we really need him considering we have Trav and Dawes, but i rekn he's worth a punt (pun intended) from other clubs

Uhh...the plethora of off field indiscretions culminating with Brownlow night '09??

He was obviously intoxicated but he was also very obviously being encouraged by the media, why else would they chase him around with a camera and let him interview people etc? THAT got blown way out of proportion, just because hes high profile doesnt mean he was more intoxicated than the next bloke, its just more obviouse to the world when a camera is stuck down his throat.

I love fev, i think off field he is a dick and a liability but only to himself.
You are all showing ZERO confidence in the culture of our great club, suggesting seasoned players like Cloke would be influenced in any way by him or held back - if cloke was held back in anyway its because Fev is 100% the football player he is and you all know this deep down. Can you imagine a focused and motivated fevola in the black and white lining up for goal with seconds to go before the siren for a semi final or something. I dont know about you guys but i have enough confidence in our mighty club to think if we took him on we could set him straight and tune him into a weapon that would write our club in the history books for all time.

He SOUNDED good on TFS but what he actually said was worrying. He is drinking and gambling. He's a time bomb. If we didn't have Dawes that he would keep out of the side I might consider the risk worth it for a flag becasue he can seriously paly and would be a sensation at Collingwood if his head was right but the best case scenario is he kicks more goals than Dawes for a couple of years and we loise a 10 year quality big marking forward. As it is we have to fit Nathan Brown back into the side with Reid and Tarrant. We might see Tarrant forward next year with Leigh Briwn gone. He's not as good as Fev but he's ours and hes much less risk.

We already have a premiership side. We don't need Fevola at all.

I would give him a one-year deal on min wage and see how it goes. If he doesn't come good (as others have said) then give him the flick and we have lost nearly nothing. If he does - look out competition. We could move Dawes to the "Leigh Brown" role of forward changing into the ruck for spells.

I don't think we will, however. And I would expect the view would be that his (lack of) chase would let the defensive structures down.

Still, I would love to have Cloke clunking them at a more true CHF and getting the ball to a genuine 70+ goal a year FF. These two, along with Dawes, would make a fearsome tall forward triumvirate.

One word: NoFeckingWay! :D

Sorry but no half decent club would take the risk on a serial offender. He's had plenty of chances already and always winds up reoffending. Any decent club would find that just too big a risk.

I've always said I wanted fev, and my stance hasn't changed.

Still want him. Would be a VERY VERY handy forward pocket. Remember he begged Eddie to get a deal done to get him to Collingwood after Carlton sacked him.

He WANTS to be at Collingwood, and I reckon we could tame him.

I find it funny how we were willing to take a chance on a convicted criminal, yet we are unwilling to take a chance on a bloke who has actually never done anything wrong other then make himself look like a tool. Double standards??
