Tried searching for 'Fev' and didn't find anything in this forum.... doubtless it's somehow been previously discussed somewhere (maybe in one of the Harvs 6PR threads), and I apologise in advance for treading over old ground on this one... but as mentioned, Search function didn't cough up a thread on it on a search for "Fev"....

.... Sooooo....

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/122278/default.aspx

Last Sunday I'm at a mate's place in Canning Vale. He's a disaffected Tigers fan, and me and another mate are looking to bring him into the fold and bring him back to the purple side of the Force, so to speak.

The other mate raised the prospect of throwing Fev a lifeline, to which I blanched in horror. Not so much because Fev's not a good forward, but more because having a good forward is pretty much useless if you can't put him on the ground due to club-or-AFL-mandated suspensions handed out due to said forward being a heat-seeker.

Given about linkey, is Harvs a mad genius, or just simply mad? Would Chris Bond actually entertain the idea? Why does my demented grandmother smell of fish?

Discuss.

PS - 'Not-Sure-if-Want.jpg'....

that link's old news. i think the media took an off-the-shoulder moment of whimsey from harvs and inflated it to 'freo will look at fev'. the day after harvs' comment, freo said they weren't interested.

I guess this is less about the link and more about providing a dedicated thread where anyone who hasn't yet sounded off on it can scream in a manner resembling a whiney farmboy who's just had their cosplaying Daddy chop their hand off with a red glowstick. :)

hi boys word of advise avoid the fev !!!!!!!!!!!!! not worth the trouble

p,s get fev wont get clark i believe no love lost there !!

A pre season pick and on base salary. The cost is a non issue. The only topic in question is is he going to self destruct like he did at Brisbane? I don't think so.

Anyone who has been in even a slightly similar position, where they bring themselves back from the brink, or have lost something that is so important to them, will understand. It changes you as a person. The best way I can describe is how Lance Armstrong morphed from a waste of talent to a legend of his sport. You just do not drag yourself up from the canvas and remain the same person.

You don't lose your family, your livelihood and then get back on the horse and lose nearly 20 kilos, unless something clicks.

The people preaching the negative role model aspect are naive idiots who haven't got a clue.

Cosidering the deficiencies in our list, and our current premiership window, it would be a significant error in list management not to pick up a player of Fev's calibre. He fits one of our needs perfectly, in every single way. Picking up Fev woudl be a courageous move, one that I really do hope our club has enough metal to make.

In the day and age of wanky by the book political correctness, picking up and alcoholic gambling addict sounds insane, but in the real world where humans are fallible, it's called giving a man a second chance.

For those who want the zero tolerance approach to an alchol/gambling addict, I sincerely hope you or your family never face this situation in real life.

Show come courage and pick up Fev.

it really is a 50-50 for me it could go either way.... i feel that we wont go that way unless something changes dramatically i.e fev and harves have a heart to heart deep moment

I agree. At the end of the day, it's a ballsy move to make, one which I think the vast majority of clubs wouldn't have the guts to do, including our club, but really, he's no different than guys like Plugger, BBBBH or Benny Cousins. He's a bloke who had a problem, which appears to be sorted. He's also a champion player like all of the above.

If it turns out it isn't sorted, we can tell him to not bother coming back to tranining, cheers, glhf. All for the cost of a PSD pick.

The risk is negligible, the rewards are ****ing huge.

Edit: wouldn't D:

yeah for sure, put it like that and i lean towards getting him.... just dont think the club will have the balls... imagine a pav, balla, fev, fyfe forwardline *KPR drools homer simpson style*

I'd love to bring Fev in, but it means that someone will have to go out:(. And it might cause problems within the group of players as with any new "outsider" player brought in that will take a spot of an insider.....maybe theirs.. I wish the AFL would allow 5 interchange players.. It helps situations like this... that way we could see more of our list on game day...:p

I hear exactly what you are saying, there is a need for a player like Fev but I think that you seriously underestimate what a flat out MORON that this child in a man's body is.

I have seen first hand time and time again how he did the EXACT opposite of what he publicly said he was not doing and worse. The amount of offences that were hushed up while he was at the blues was mind blowing.

He then went on to do the same things at the Lions after Voss stuck his neck out to give me a 2nd chance. He then went on to continue to gamble (against what he publicly said he wasnt doing while playing at the Scorpions.

The guy is a liar and quite frankly CANNOT be trusted in anything that he says and does. Our team needs to have standards, we also need to set examples for your young talent. Fev is a charismatic character and WILL lead younger players astray. We cannot afford a talented young player to go off the rails being lead by Fev.

No Freaking WAY!!!:mad::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

i would have absolutely no problem whatsoever with an in form fevola coming in for michael johnson

At worst, Fevola could teach everyone how to kick straight. At best we could have the most dangerous forward line in the comp.

I, quite honestly, see the upside. A forward kicking 50 - 60 in a season is what we have been lacking since Pav went into the middle. 25 goals or thereabouts the best effort from any forward this year...Thats just over 1 a game - is poor. As for our players feeling disenchanted about the possibility of incomers..well I've been bloody disenchanted for a number of weeks about the lack of heart and effort by a number of them and not just in the last 7 weeks (Richmond springs to mind). So they best just get their heads down and erses up.

Fev's had a lot of chances. But he didn't seem that interested in football when he went to Brisbane. A year in the VFL seems to have got him motivated. And motivation is one thing we need. I'd take him

What are you suggesting ? ... that at Freo it's "jobs for the boys", true wharfie style.

I'd like a few players bought in. Plenty of our guys need learn to fight for their spots

At 'worst' he could bring into Fremantle the type of behaviour and attitude no Club needs or wants. Not for any amount of talent..

At 'best' he could become a role model for defeating his demons and prove talent should always be given another chance.

The few times i've seen him talk he does have a certain charisma.

Too hard to call.

This.

Getting Fevola to the club could be the ultimate disaster. Not only could he do **** all and waste a spot on the list, he could also be the sort of role model that clubs would pay millions not to have. If anyone is capable of teaching other players how to act like complete and utter ********s, it's Fev.

Too risky.

When Fevola is on the field he delivers. That is something our players do not do. They promise but they don't deliver.

Fev isn't worth the risk that comes with him. Last thing FFC needs is a sideshow freak that the media is waiting to pounce on at the first indiscretion he makes.

well, SEN are reporting that fev was found last night vomitting in a pot plant. fev is denying this on twitter, saying he just had a "good night out with the boys"...... i was starting to come around to the idea of getting fev, but it is obvious that he isnt over his issues. no dice!!!

Finally got a reply from my mate in Melbourne who's a close family friend of the Favolas. No way will he ever leave his daughters behind in Victoria and if Alex (his ex) couldn't cope with Queensland then WA is an impossibility.

Reinforces what the media reported about his depression/Brisbane meltdown being triggered by his family returning to Melbourne.

On top of what Bond has said recently I think it's safe to /thread.
