Iv been having a discussion in another forum, wanna get ur opinions...

If Fevola was on the market come trade week would u be willing to give Bartel in a direct swap?

I said no, i'd want a pick with Fev ... what r ur thoughts?

Bartel has 14/20 games notched 20 possies, including 32 against port and 30 against west coast, he leads Geelong in tackles (78), top 4 in marks, handballs, kicks ... and has kicked 18 goals

Not bad for 21!

You would only consider these trades if Bartel said he wanted to leave. 3 months ago if Bartel said he wanted to leave and we could have got Fev in return I would have jumped at it. But now I am convinced that Fev would be a distraction to the rest of the group and I think we could do without a personality like his around the club.

Let me sum up the general feeling as i see it...
if bartel was to leave the club and we got fev in return, we would consider it a loss that could result in a win.
if carlton tried to swap Fev for Bartel we would tell them to go jump, then possibly burn down optus oval.
if geelong tried to swap bartel for fev then we would...grrrrr lets just say it wouldnt be pretty.

You'd want to add one of the Blues' first two picks to that lot for Bartel. Probably the best centreman in the comp for his age along with Dal Santo.

Bartel has had a good year at a good club notching 20+ possesions.............

Fev has had 3 years of 50+ goals a season at a ******** weak club with terrible delivery of the football & no forward line structure!

Add this to his marketing power which would no doubt go through the roof in the town of geelong and YOU WANT A PICK TO GO WITH HIM JUST FOR BARTEL????????????????

This post is terrible. Just Terrible!

Besides, i would have thought a Forward would have been off the cards for you lot now. At the start of the season, yeah - it would have been on the top of your shopping list for sure! Players like Whitnall and Tarrant ect, ect. But N.Ablett will develop much faster than people think! I can seriously see this kid kicking 40+ goals next year......................!

Off Fevola and on to N. Ablett..................was ********ed of when he got that NAB Rising star nomination. No Chance of winning it this year!
Or can he be nominated again next season when he's actually got a chance of winning it?

Yeh, but one's in his early twenties, has room to improve and is CONSISTENT.

LOL!! Your kidding right? Talk about optimism. You would find it hard to get just one of our first two picks (most probably picks 1 and 4) for Bartel and you want Fevola as well!

How do you like this one. Bartel for Karl Norman or we get him free in the PSD. ;)

Yep, that's exactly what I'd want for Bartel, one of those two picks plus Fevola, however if I was Carlton I wouldn't give up so much for him. There's always a bit of a problem for upsetting a status quo that's working fine for us and disrupting team harmony/structure so Bartel's worth that to us.

Pick four and Fevola for Bartel! Tell him he's dreaming and we can get him for nothing in the PSD or give you Houlihan! I know the Cats have had success with one his brothers and would like another!
Look , If I was Bartel I'd look at Cartlon as being the club furtherist away from being half decent.Go up a bit and Hawthorn, Carlton ,Essendon and Richmond all would be more appealling. To geelong, if the worst case came to pass, these team would be first port of call excactly because you can draft sombody for nothing in PSD.Now, if Jimmy , for what ever reason but it would have to have something to do with money, demands only Carlton, stand by for fun, fun, fun when all your future stars get targeted.
Bartel would be worth P1 and thats the fact of it. I know we would not get it but thats what hes worth. He is plug and play with no development required, he is young enough to play for the next ten years.

As for Fev, I dont want him. If you want to trade check out the guys from the West im sure they be interested

Geelong fans, Where are your heads at.

If Fev was playing for a team like WC he would be kicking 100 goals a year.

Fevola is a better player than Bartel, would only take him in the Preseason.

My God Carlton fans are displaying some toolish behaviour!!! Your not the only club interested in Jimmy Bartel, which means teams such as Essendon and Collingwood (who im sure are smart enough to realise that they dont have the number one PS draft pick) would be more than willing to offer more than Houlihan ...

Haha - as for Fev, u keep him and we'll keep Jimmy, the fact is Jimmy will be a mutli premiership player for the cats and Fev will always be the under achieving 60 goal a season player he is now!

Cause Geelong has an abundance of under achieving 60 goal a season forwards
