Not a problem with the hardware.

Just that in a season I am playing at the moment, Essendon traded all of there ruckman, they now play with Lucas,Lloyd or Hird as their ruckman.These players actually get hit-outs against the best ruckman in the league!

While I am talking about Essescum, I would like to point out the massive over ratedness of there players.

FFS Peverill is rated 85!

lol i remember seeing Hird i think it was in the ruck

in FF the ruckman quite often ends up with 35+ possies

seemt o be favoured a lot, its a lot more even in TAR 04 but FF is still a great game
 
Lol Essendon always finishes in the top 3 in my league and Jason Johnson is rated at 99 from the 2nd season onwards, lol
 
Well, the game came out around 2001? from memory so it was a reflection of the Bombers dominance around then. I hated it too, so I've gone and edited all the ratings myself. The results are pretty good so far, although the Saints still languish near the bottom. I must have overrated Tredrea because he's averaging 40 possessions and 15 marks a game, 7 games into the season. So there's still a bit of finetuning to be done.

Yeah, that ruckman thing is a bit annoying, you could chuck David Rodan or Brent Harvey against Sandilands and they would still win hitouts.

The other thing is that as the seasons go on, the lists keep shrinking because too many players retire and clubs only have 5 draft picks to replenish their stocks (No pre-season draft or rookie draft!) and eventually you get clubs with less than 30 players on their list.
 
utilities...player editor.

Important to note that once you've done all the changes and saved, you still have to import that list (quite confusing really).

Also, you should quit the program after importing and restart it before beginning the new season. It stuffs up otherwise.

In this situation, I quit the game and start the draft over again.

So, the players drafted in the 'first' draft are kept? Meaning you get two lots of drafting?
 
Hmm thanks for that, I'll shall look into that. Might forfeit the later picks and use my 1st rounder 5 times :D . Just a question, would problems arise if a delisted current player is drafted in the first draft, would he be available in the second draft?

How far in the future have you gone? I went to 2006 but some weird stuff happened with the fixtures and I couldn't run the game again, and alas I didn't save.
 
Hey everybody - "Look at the cheater"

As far as careers I went up to 2012 without any problems and then started a new career.Not enough real players left for my liking.

Edit: If a delisted player is in the draft, you can draft him and he won't be in any other drafts you may start.If you don't draft him in the first draft, he will still be available if you have another draft.

Yeah, its hard to get attached to generated players. You also get strange things like 181cm ruckmen, or 195cm players who aren't considered key position. I'm guessing you use the Swans the most often, do you find that they dominate the comp year after year. I hardly lose a game with them (this is done with the default ratings BTW)
 
Agree with the strange player drafting.

I do play with the swans everytime, I have coached them to a flag in the 2002 comp and been good since.I have never coached another team though, so I don't know what they are like under CPU hands.

Is it me or is Amon Buchanen totally dominant?
 
In the first game I played I made the mistake of trading him and a couple of others to the Kangaroos for Adam Simpson, and after 2 years or so, he was a star, picking up many possessions and winning the Coleman (albeit with only 54 goals).

Other good Swans I found were Nicks in the first couple of years and Kennelly and McVeigh after that.

BTW, if you want the edited rankings that I've done PM your email and I'll send it to you when I get home.
 
Yeah im with a previous poster. I HATE HAVING to restart because ive run out of players. Its a bugger, so ive started doing extending player contracts for the min in player utilities, because otherwise i get to season 2008 and have no players left
