Hello guys i need some tips on game play for fifa. I seem to be getting heaps of shots on goal but hardly any of them are on target. So if anyone could help thanks.

Yeah I've got it too, pretty good game.

You are probably just using too much power, you don't really want to fill up the meter too much. Other than that I can't help you.

I like this game, i have it on 360 but have played it on PS3 as well.

The trick is as the previous poster said is only use a tiny bit of power on the shot. If every shot you are taking is off target just only shoot by tapping the shot button very quickly.

These shot tend to be alot more accurate and tend to slide in under the keeper, especially when the keeper is charging at you.

depends how ur getting ur shots

if its headers aim to make the header about 8yards out in line with the near post (or far post) and then its an arc (out) between these 2 spots thats most effective
also hold L1 when you cross and aim to bring it back (gives u space and ur player moves into the ball) when you cross try just tapping it ever so much so it comes spearing in...sometimes u got enough time to take possession, but if u dont the header finisher is a lot easier

if u have burst away from the pack...run forward...ull notice everytime u get to a certain spot the keeper will charge out, when he does simply go one side (so uve turned parralel to the goal line) and just give it a good tap and the ball will go under the keepers arm 99% of the time, try practising this with the 1 on 1 with the keeper at the start up screen, after a while you'll see what i mean

also when you shoot try and make it of the players preferred foot and make sure they are balanced and have some momentum which will increase ur accuracy
there is nothing wrong with a lot of show power..but nething over 3/4's of hte bar and u will start to spray a few, but if ur shooting from far out ull need to fill the bar up (particually if u dont have any forward momentum)

if u have a corner..sometimes there isnt a defender guarding the near post (make sure the path just outside the near post and the corner is relatively free as well) simply hold L1 (aim for space...doesnt have to be at the near post but preferably in the penalty box) and keep quickly tapping square until the corner is taken then keep quickly tapping shoot...what happens if u pull it off (works better then a air cross if its relatively open depending on the defence they set up) is that the ball will be cross along the ground and hopefully one of ur players runs onto it and shoots immediatley

Don't be afraid to give it some juice, just don't push your stick all the way to one side. Practice in the thingy with Ronaldhino when it's loading until you get good. You'll get the hang of, and yes, bring on 09!

I think there's another button that helps 'refine' the shot - RB on the 360 version (probably R1 on the ps3 version..... but just guessing. But yeah you generally don't give the shot 'full power' otherwise it will be too far off target.

I didn't mind Fifa '08, while i havn't played it much in recent months (played it for the first time in ages over the weekend), it was still cool. I loved the improved defence, which makes it tricky to be able to do the old traditional thing of just using the sole player to run the full length of the pitch and score. Having said that, i've still been able to run up one end - to the other and score (fluke shots, but still).


Fifa '02 remains my favorite game in the franchise.

I seem to get nearly all of my shots on target which is a huge bonus. Only time i don't is corners because i always head the ball just over the tip of the bar.

To make sure you get a god shot though, you have to be open snd hardly anything in between you and the goals as the ball will tend to be deflected. I always use triple plays, as in i pass to the right who passes to the left who cuts inside and i will have a dude open. May not make sense but in terms of getting a clear shot, you have to play the ball around and look for weaknesses in their defence.

My favourite move of them all is the Chip Shot, can't be used evey game however but when it can, is simply the easiest goal ever.

The other thing that may be the problem with the shots on target is the positioning of your player. If your player is off balance, you're less likely hit the target, just in real life.

Perfect the shots on target and maybe a few around here can teach you how to Rabona
