Ok, only a month away now and there has been no talk.

This game looks as if it may end the debate once and for all. New features and whatnot are great, but the thing that I am most looking forward to in this yhear's edition is the gameplay. I thought Euro 2008 was brilliant in that department, and I'm guessing FIFA 09 will be another step up.

I hate to be a naysayer but I thought Euro 2008 was shit and this will be FIFA 08 with a coulpe more features.

FIFA 08 was a big change from 07, but 09 just looks like 08 with one or two new features.

No point buying it.
 
All hype and no substance.

Sorry guys but EA always make their games look way better than they really are.

Nightmares of people using the same old tactic in FIFA 08 online come flooding back....

Interesting in how that would work. If you are playing a career/management road in FIFA09 as say Spurs and you are in the top 3, qualified for champions league and players such as Modric, Bentley are having a great years and improving their stats but are going shit in real life would you want the real life updates?

The Live updates don't apply to manager mode, so that won't happen.
Only on online and other modes.

Well FIFA 08 got as close to being good as PES as it ever did before so this is their best chance at finally making a better game.

PES have re-written their new game so FIFA better have made changes to their previous effort.

I hope they get rid of that stupid flashback thing when the players walk on the field, please just make it as realistic as possible in every aspect just let them walk out normally and shake hands!
 
Things that need to be implemented:

- Make the replay system easier and please let us be able to rewind further back then 15 seconds FFS

- Fix the keeper AI. It is horrible. Sometimes they pull off ridiculous saves many times in the same match and other times they just flap at a shot I could save for crying out loud

- Bring in harsh penalties for people who constantly quit/disconnect games. I'm sick of being in injury time and a goal up only to have my opponent pull the plug on me

- Yet again the game will be a nightmare to play online with the lag issue, yes this happens in all games but could EA please make the game a bit more fluid and not so jerky? I don't care how fluid the trailers look, I remember thinking the same thing about FIFA 08 and that game had big issues

That's just the start for me, there is a lot I could go on about further but I can't be ****ed.
 
Just read they've brought in a club comp for 10v10 online games.

Pretty sure it said something along the lines of you play for your club that you join, but then can be dropped by a manager (dont know who that is) or get offers from other teams.

May have misread places but this sounds pretty cool.

Kept that marked down for quite some time.

Demo available today, but I prefer to wait until the final copy to play. I feel the demos spoilt the main gfame somewhat. but thats just me.

Friggin hell I cant wait. Just finished exams for the term today so october 2 cant come quick enough!

Isn't the debate about FIFA vs PES?

With a similar mode to Be A Pro coming to PES (regardless of who ripped off whom), it'll wipe the floor with FIFA.

There is the beginning of your debate buddy ;)
 
Got the demo last night, its only about 740mb if i remember correctly.

Plays well, really well. Really just an upgrade on 08 but with all the glitches out of it. Example if you tackle someone from behind... yellow, if you tackle someone heading into an open goal... red.

Not that it matters much for me but the AI is so much smarter, the AI passes to the men you run off.

Also the passing is improved 10 fold. You can pas quickly and directly and your goalie also has the ability to throw the ball as soon as he picks it up and you can weight the throw to your liking.
