So I finally finished my 2nd season with the Western Sydney Wanderers the other night (I play every match so it takes a while!).

Had a much better season than my 1st season in which I finished 7th. This time I not only managed to win the league, but I finished 2nd overall for the season.

The Grand Final was a fairly poor performance from myself, I felt Brisbane Roar absolutely destroyed me for the most part of the game but I was lucky enough to get a break away run and put in a sweaty goal to get the only goal in the game. Had a tense moment minutes from the end when Henrique had a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper but pushed the shot wide.

My Semi-Final though was the real one to watch. Was a 5-5 epic against Melbourne Victory that ended up with me winning through on penalties 3-4. Some weird goals, some great goals and even one from the Victory GK in Coe after he had come up for a corner in the dying minutes of ET with the scores at 4-5. The ball was whipped in from the corner, I cleared but straight to a Victory player about 10 metres outside the box, who headed it back into the penalty box to Coe who was just standing there and all my defenders decided to run the other way and Coe put away an easy goal...was bizarre to say the least. Ended up holding my cool in the penalties and saving a couple to win the game. One of the best matches I've played though, to go with the one from the first season.

Really liked my player progression overall as well with all the young guns I got into my side. Had to get rid of Jesic, but he was the only one that didn't end up fitting into my side from the crossovers.

This is where my players stand for overalls at the moment:
GK - Butland AGE: 21 OVR: 73
RB - Risdon AGE: 22 OVR: 64​
CB - Jurman AGE: 24 OVR: 66​
CB - Topor-Stanley AGE: 29 OVR: 68​
LB - Goodwin (just acquired) AGE: 22 OVR: 65
CDM - Poljak AGE: 25 OVR: 67
CDM - Mooy AGE: 24 OVR: 74
CAM - Dugandzic AGE: 24 OVR: 67
CAM - Rojas AGE: 23 OVR: 71
CAM - Fenton AGE: 21 OVR: 68
ST - Appiah-Kubi AGE: 22 OVR: 63
INT - Cernak AGE: 25 OVR: 66
INT - Minniecon AGE: 25 OVR: 62
(The rest of the bench is mainly filler free agents)

Fenton and Appiah-Kubi are my faves now. Overtaking Mooy who had a decent season, but wasn't as damaging (and to be fair, he didn't need to be either).

Appiah-Kubi simply due to his absolutely devastating pace, 98 acceleration and 95 sprint speed. And as a striker his finishing ability has gone up considerably (I think it's around 69-70ish now - good for the A-League). Basically any other attribute of his is there abouts of horrible, but for a striker that's really all I need from him.

Fenton is just a flat out gun. I didn't really know how he was going to go since he's only really shown to be a future gun in the real A-League in the early games this year. But it seems they had his potential down pat as he's grown brilliantly into the wing role for me. And he's still only 21.

Entering my 3rd season the only move I made was to get in Goodwin for Jerome Polenz, who was fine, just that I wanted the more attack minded Goodwin. Ended up swapping Polenz and 300k to get Goodwin in, so I was happy as Goodwin is easily one of my favourite players in the A-League.

Decided to spent most of my budget on a scout to go to Brazil instead of trying my hand at getting a player in worth a couple of million. Felt it was better to go scouting and see what I could get than fill a position that I really don't need to be filled by someone unrealistically coming in, as everyone that I have are mostly young with heaps of potential anyway.

Will probably sell Topor-Stanley at the mid-season transfer period and get a young CB in though as he's already started to decline in attributes disappointingly.​

Great story but there is nothing bizarre about that goal, it is clearly scripted. Sometimes defenders run away from an attacking player when the ball is put into the box. Pretty pissweak by FIFA really.

It did seem like it was always going to happen. You know when you get that feeling of 'I can just feel they're gonna get a goal here' and then bang they do. I had that exact feeling and thought Coe would be the one to get it, sure enough the sea parted (literally went from 5 defenders in the box surrounding him to 0) and there he was right in front of goal.

If that had've cost me the game then I would've gone on a murder rampage however.:eek::p
 
Don't know how some of you can play career mode while enjoying it, too much bullshit happens when playing the AI compared to seasons.

I wanna give it another go after I win the div 1 title in seasons but I'll probably just get angry again during the games.

Suarez dicked me and requested a transfer just weeks into my first season. Had offers from Barcelona (around 22mil) and Real Madrid (around 25mil) but thought I'd be smart and try to bump Madrid closer to 30mil. Well, it got to a couple of days before the deadline and simultaneously I receive messages that Madrid don't want to pay that much and the board have taken over and sold Suarez to Barca for 19mil. Well **** me.

Luckily I already had Muriel as a backup, but ended up grabbing Benzema on deadline day for around 16.5mil. Leading the league in the middle of January with Benzema topping the goal count.
 
I haven't played FIFA for weeks. I see it laying there, but I don't have the urge to play it, I'm everything I hate. What have I become?!

Juve here too. The three defenders works wonders for me. Also like Napoli and Bayern.

Have a soft spot for Belguim when wanting to use internationals too.

Hate City, Barca, Real and Germany with a passion. Can never beat them.

Yeah, sold mine the other day. Didn't even finish one season; each year I see myself playing less and less. Won't be getting any more FIFA titles on the PS3, will wait for next gen.

Not really sure. Have owned all but 2 or 3 FIFA's since RTWC98. I used to play 5-6 full seasons of each FIFA game (much much more on 98 and 00), + online. As I said, it's down to under 1 now. The realism of the games is great, and I still enjoy them, but seem to get bored very quickly. Never got in to UT, and online seasons is extremely boring with pace abusers in 13, and AI defending in 12 (pre patch). I think with 11 I played two and a half seasons, 12 I played just under two. Steadily decreasing.

I get the game isn't meant solely for career mode, but personally that's what I really enjoy. It's still a good game, just not for me anymore.

Pro career is the same. I signed on to play for Newcastle and they send me out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, which is fine. I do really well and win the golden boot in the Championship. My rating increases to 80. The next season I start well and dominate, scoring for fun. I end up winning the golden boot in the premier league with 38 goals. The only problem is that the manager subs me off in the 55th minute in every damn match. It's ridiculous.

That's not to mention the transfer dealings, which are so flawed. I get an offer to sign for PSG and I accept but two days later they agree to sell me to Juventus, Wolfsburg and Milan.
