Collingwood isn’t selecting Brander at 6. A draftee KPP who’s unlikely to impact or even play many senior games in year 1 isn’t going to fill a void if Moore plays defence. No way they reach for him.

Fair enough mate, most people see him sliding through to Richmond's
selection. I gave you Brander and Taylor more with a long term view
in mind thinking Ben Reid would be the one to go forward if Darcy
Moore went back. I watched young Sam McLarty play last year and
he was getting close by the end of the year. Do you think you will
take a slider or who do you think you will take ? Collingwood are
relatively settled and difficult to pick for.

Depends on whether one of the big 4 slip, Cerra most likely. If one of those guys don’t, I’d have it between Coffield and Fogarty, with both being able to come in and play roles in year 1, Coffield in defence and Fogarty as that 3rd medium/tall forward. I liked the selection of Taylor at 38 and would be rapt if he was available to take by that point.

I think the clubs attitude towards a key forward at the moment is less desperate than people believe it to be. We’re heavily in to Lynch, but even if we don’t land him next year the quality of talls in the draft available will be better than Brander anyway. Who knows, Fogarty could grow another 2-3cm and suddenly he’s 195/6cm and running around playing a KPF role if we draft him.

Lynch would be a huge get for the Pies, I am not that big into Darcy Fogarty he
has that classic i had leg injuries so i hit the gym look this year though he was
good the previous year. You are like us a little in that what happens with the
teams above your pick could shape your choice anyhow hope you guys pick
a good player.

Get excited mate he is actually from Western Sydney and as i said
would be a good PR story for your club. Shipley, Richards and
L.Fogarty would be good haul no matter what number appears
next to their names.

I reckon my nan is slightly more chance of getting picked at 11 than Shipley, and she expired in 1987.

His range is probably 25 to 60, but his story being from Western
Sydney and not your traditional recruiting zone is worth some
celebration even if it is a reach. You could still go a medium
defender either Richards or Garner or Paton and a small forward
mid in Fogarty or Spargo or Miers at your two picks in the late
twenties. Face facts you may as well hand out the Carlton
theme song to most of your draftees, good news stories only
come around every now and then and this could plant a seed
that may impact young elite sportsmen from other sports who
live in Western Sydney. Sorry for your loss.

Draft Club by Club (overview)

Brisbane: C.Rayner, Z.Bailey, B.Starcevich, C.Ballenden,
T.Wooller, J.Payne.
2 x all Aust, 1 x TAC team of the year.
Great mix taking into account all the outs, hope they
all hang around getting Luke Hodge is massive.

Fremantle: A.Brayshaw, A.Cerra, H.Dixon, M.Crowden,
T.North, L.Meek, S.Switowski, S.Jones.
2 x TAC team of the year.
Hot start then addressed needs late.

Carlton: P.Dow, L.O'Brien, T.De Koning, A.Schumacher,
J.Garlett.
1 x all Aust, 1 x TAC team of the year.
4 x Vic Country reps and a Garlett, great start.

North Melbourne: L.D-Uniacke, W.Walker, K.Hayden,
T.Xerri, B.Hartung.
1 x TAC team of the year.
Gift at pick 4, way too good to refuse. Beware Hawks
bearing gifts history teaches.

Collingwood: J.Stephenson, N.Murphy, T.Brown.
1 x TAC team of the year.
Utility obsession, but Hoskin-Elliott has been good.

St Kilda: H.Clark, N.Coffield, O.Clavarino, B.Paton.
3 x all Aust, 4 x TAC team of the year
Most decorated list of four players.

Bulldogs: A.Naughton, E.Richards, C.Porter.
1 x all Aust, 1 x TAC team of the year.
All sound best available selections.

GWS: A.Bonar, B.Daniels, S.Taylor, Z.G.Langdon,
N.Shipley.
1 x all Aust.
Addressed some needs not the obvious ones though.

Adelaide: D.Fogarty, A.McPherson.
Two locals who had injury ravaged years.

West Coast: J.Brander, O.Allen, L.Ryan, B.Ainsworth,
J.Petruccelle, H.Brayshaw.
3 x all Aust.
Not many people expected such a forward focus.

Sydney: M.Ling, T.McCartin, R.Stoddart.
Typical Sydney the longer you look at their picks the
better they look.

Richmond: J.Higgins, C.C-Jones, N.Balta, P.Naish,
B.Miller.
3 x all Aust, 3 x TAC team of the year.
Biggest heist since the great train robbery.

Gold Coast: W.Powell, C.Ballard, B.Crossley, C.Nutting.
1 x all Aust.
He would not be skinny and athletic would he ?

Geelong: L.Fogarty, T.Kelly, C.Constable, G.Miers.
2 x all Aust, 3 x TAC team of the year.
Quality at every pick and value.

Melbourne: C.Spargo, B.Fritsch, H.Petty, O.Baker.
1 x all Aust.
Still juicing up over the Jake Lever trade, satisfied.

Hawthorn: J.Worpel, D.Moore, J.Ross.
2 x all Aust, 2 x TAC team of the year.
Solid work considering the entry point so late.

Essendon: J.Houlahan, B.Z-Thatcher, M.Guelfi.
Must have watched a lot of Sturt games during the
year, good to see Guelfi get a chance too.

Port Adelaide: S.Hayes, K.Farrell, J.Patmore, J.Garner,
D.Barry.
2 x all Aust, 2 x TAC team of the year.
Another late entry who made the most of their picks.

It will be interesting to see who kicks on to greatness
and who hits a hurdle early in the race, the work is
about to begin good luck.
