As some of you may or may not be aware, a nice chap was running a site called www.manugoals.com, and as the domain name indicates, you could access video clips of goals and other highlights of games featuring Manchester United.

It should be noted that this service was completely free, no money required.

Now the FA have sent the site owner a letter which indicates what the site is in "violation" of, and as long as the site is closed within 14 days, no further action will be taken.

Why the FA wants target the small who are making no money from this service is beyond me. There are many people in this world who would be using the EPL and FA branding or imagery for personal gain, why not go and prosecute them? Surely the site promotes the EPL and in particular Manchester United Football Club to the rest of the world? Is this not a good thing?

I encoruage everyone to go fill out the online petition by clicking here to save the site from being closed permanently.

I have no doubt that there would be similiar sites out there for other teams, and it would be shame to see such sites go down a similar path.

It would seem the FA are not satisified with selling the EPL broadcast rights for a small fortune.

Thats bullsh1t. I just had a look at that website and it all seemed harmless enough. It is just promoting the team and the EPL in a beneficial way IMO.

Bloody corporate bastards!

A contact of mine had a similar thing going with Leeds goals although it was on a smaller scale. Some time last year he received a similar message demanding he take the files ("moving images") down. He promptly did so and made sure everyone gave him their email. I now receive an email each week with a link to the 'underground' site and download videos such as "Anna's Birthday Party." :D

we can only draw the conclusion that you are trying to exploit and profit from the moving images specified in the schedule

The English FA is surely wrong if the website is not making any money! I am putting my name down
