Taking all things into consideration I think the ten top 6 will stay unchanged but honestly who will fill the final 2 positions...have a good look at the remaning teams RICHMOND are a good show...

If we have a good run with injuries, then yes we are a chance to fill one of those positions. Bombers are falling away already and Eagles may do the same later in the year. I would expect the Saints to grab one of those spots, and i'd be stoked if we could fill the other. Lid is remaining firmly ON though, if we finish out of the bottom 5 I'll be satisfied.

Bingo. Top 4 will make finals, the rest have a full half season to face still. Injuries, teams suffering fatigue (WCE and Essendon with their presses), off-field drama..anything can happen!

Youre right, 7 out of 12 is a tough ask - for anyone. So we're as much a chance as the rest..

yeah we arent actually that good this year...still a way to go with the gaping holes in our best 22, no ruckman, leaky midfield and under siege defense.

7 out of 12 will be asking too much, swans in sydney, brissy in brissy, dees (resurgent recently) and blues could see us go 0-4 after the bye. maybe brissy is stronger than a 50% chance, dees 50-50, swans and blues less than 25%

Brissy without Merrett for 8-10 weeks, I think that gives us at least a 50% chance up there, if not better. Could be 2-2 just as easily as 0-4 imo.

Isn't BigFooty a forum for discussion and hypotheticals? Seems a bit harsh to call this a silly thread. We make it, we don't make it...either way, there's no harm in yakking about it. I don't reckon we''ll make it but be great if we did have a sniff of finals action.

Yup, and I was even a tad hypocritical there as I have been talking up our next three weeks + finals chances elsewhere . Apologies!

My point didn't really come across, and that was a minor one about people being wary about naming the top 6 'set'. So called experts do this every year and they are often proven wrong. But yes, lets discuss our chances to our hearts content.

Best post of the thread. I look at our next 3 games and I see one we should lose, one we should win, and one almost bang-on 50-50 (if Melbourne keep up their reinvigorated form, who knows if they will). Therefore 3 wins from the next 3 games sees us in the hunt. Any less and we're drifting bigtime in the race.

More importantly than wins and losses, the next 3 games should show how we can rate our side this year. Again, 3 wins and I know I for one would be considering labelling us a top 8 side (albeit only ranked 7th or 8th).

I'm very excited to see if we what we can do before the Carlton game.
