****ing Awesome dude. this looks like it could be better then FF and Total Aussie Rules. What would make it better would be that you can make custom teams and run a leauge (like make you're junior leauge or something) that would be the best ever.

thnx for da feedback

sorri but no leagues yet :(

but the good news is there will be an editor

it will just edit that players name for now but improvements can be made

may i ask where i can get those FF and total aussie rules games?

there is gunna be a player editor, awards and an all australian team

the all australian team gets chosen based upon games u have simed wif the 16 teams

same wif the awards

What is FF and Total Aussie Rules??

Could someone give a link to 1 or both of them so I can have look and see how could they are.

well basically just go bac to the main menu and choose another team

i wasted like a whole day trying to add in some sorta team vs team feature where at one stage it actually says melbourne bat essendon (example)

but i feel i could spend my time adding in much better features like the editor, awards and representative teams.

but basically just note down the score in ya brain and go n look at another teams score

u dont need a computer to tell u whos won lol

but i will look into this for future versions

Hey Thanks Man for the Links!

Footy Fanatic is coool!

Reports, Injuries, Stats you get to play seasons and watch your match with commentary and stuff. Its great! Also you can get the 2003 season!

Is Total Aussie Rules good?

i have finally worked out how to actually have a game between 2 teams.

ya choose team 1 and 2, sim em both and go to a results page which has the final score, a coaches report, Man of Match etc

yeh

much better now

can anyone tell me how i get the statistical leaders and complete stats on footy fanatic, they dont seem to work for me
the rest goes like a dream though

in the bottom left u have a panel which can be moved.

click the arrows till u c the panel with the stats options...eg. kicks, handballs, brownlow odds, goals, hitouts, etc.
:)

I have the same problem. Brownlow Odds doesn't work either.

I have no problems with the stats and everything with Footy Fanatic but I cant even get into the game half the time. Usually it says:

Run Time Error 9

Subscript Out of Range

Its way too Buggy. The guy that made the game should have released a fix for all those bugs.

ok....... this may be a coinsidence BUT

i play a game...finish it then i go to play another game and somethin ****s up like the clock just stopping

that happened a few times when i tried to play 2 games in a row wifout closing the program so now i play one game, it auto saves which is a great feature for a buggy game, exit, open it again play another game

i dont mind the occasional r'run time error' when cruising around the menus coz it auto saves but i just hate it when it fuks up during a game which it has done twice

coz then u loose everything from dat game

otherwise.... great game

Did you catch the bit we're he said it was under construction?

Everything has to start somewhere. Melb. martin's 'Final Whistle' will improve as he expands it. We've already seen it grow in features since he first touted the idea.

I feel that I know exactly what's going on with Melb Martin's approach to the project, because it reminds me of myself when slowly building QOOTY ( http://www.footypedia.com/qooty ).

He seems to be using an age-old, much-maligned, but superbly exciting programming path ... its called 'spaghetti programming'.

Your teams of professionals at Ozisoft etc will hide themselves away for years until a project is finished, before you even hear about it.

Melb. Martin, and myself for that matter, would rather have the program available as soon as any part of it works. That means making a simple, feature-spartan, version first, that works. As new stuff is added in (eg the facility for both teams results to be shown at once) the program loops and paths head off to new areas in the source code, then return to the original text. It can be confusing for the programmer, but its the only way to be able to release it as a working version in the early stages (That's spaghetti programming.)

Let's just say that mine, QOOTY, started as just two lines of text, team name, G, B, Pts, and then one more line with the Quarter # and time. The scores would change as the timer ran. Then it was finished!

Now its got, well, ask on the Fantasy Footy board or check the site out for the features available now.

And yet, I haven't been able to turn it into an executable file. It can be ctrl-brked and it goes to the source code! Final Whistle is in its gestative stages and yet it already has achieved these things.

I'm not saying Final Whistle is top of the range, but give the bloke time, and I'm sure it will grow. Gottah start somewhere :) Give him a chance to expand it.

Melbourne Martin : I'm interested in knowing what language is used for it, is it completely DOS commands? Cause that's restricting. I used an obsolete programming language called QBasic, a DOS-based language, using Old DOS!

yeh its made in qbasic

but i have some problems now coz i dont use SUBS and i havent even finished 4 teams and its now saying (module script is too long)

u seem to be good at qbasic seeing as though u said u used that to create your game

could u plz help me out coz at the moment i cant go anywhere

i just wanna say have all the x = whatever, in 1 SUB and then just print it out on da main one

my email is melbournemartin@hotmail.com and u will find that i am on MSN messenger practically 24/7 so if u could help out then that would be appreciated
