Prediction Finals 22

What do you want our finals 22 to look like guys?

Do we continue with both of Castagna and Butler?
Does Broad hold his spot?
Do Conca and/or Griffiths get back in after 2 VFL games?
Does Hampson get in?

I want this side, based on form and fitness (Graham and Townsend are just assumptions but I like the extra tough midfield presence):

Grimes, Astbury, Vlastuin
Houli, Rance, B. Ellis
Cotchin, Graham, McIntosh
Townsend, Caddy, Castagna
Rioli, Riewoldt, Edwards
Nankervis, Martin, Prestia
Grigg, Lambert, Menadue, Short

Another tall would be preferable but I can't justify any of them.

Not bad, i agree about tge takl we jusg dont have 1 good enough to contribute and may have to bite the bullet and play Nank alone.
It concerns me when i see Houli, Grigg, Macintosh and Ellis in the same side all are panic merchants who crack under pressure can gandke 1 or 2 not 4 and Ellis is improving and Macca has more upside and probably needs to chop out in the ruck.

Would like to see Bolton in for Grigg and Menadue replacing Houli on HB allowing Markov, Miles or Butler back in depending on the game location and conditions.

Butler and Georgie seem to stay in regardless of how they play. So they will play.

Will say my side looks a bit one paced. Will be interesting if we go with speed in the finals with menadue/markov/short. Or we stay with this lineup which looks built for contested footy. Few linebreakers in there with dusty shed butler and houli but could go more. Can never have enough of those!

You blokes realise Graham hasn't played an AFL game yet.

I feel a lot of people are expecting a lot from a guy who hasn't even played a game yet.

I would expect Miles to make his way into the side for finals.

Bachar is so far cemented in the current best 22 at the moment it's not funny. Before his suspension he would of been top 5 in the b&f. Funny how peoples minds change after a bad game or two.

Yes and no.
Yes Graham is in my side, because we need some coal-face muscle and given they are not playing Miles, then he is next in line. He has tools we need, and has good VFL form. Either he or Townsend. Finals are tougher, just feel Graham might rise to the occasion. Two weeks to find out.
Houli has form under pressure. He is in my side on the wing because he is still a good player, but some of his handballs on the last line of defence are very iffy. Would prefer Manadue or Short on a wing but realise that they are not better players right now.

Yep, still needs to prove himself and Miles should replace him come finals, but if he plays two rippers in the last two rounds, I would seriously be playing him.

Houli provides so much of our run from the backline, grigg while down the last few weeks is best 22 and Ellis is having his best year. Why would we change the look of our whole team by making wholesale changes for finals as these blokes are a big reason we are here in the first place?

If Lennon couldn't find a way in this week he ain't coming in in September. Otherwise I don't mind it. If griff doesn't come in hopefully hampson does. We need one of them to be fit, they could make a big difference.

Not the side I'd pick, but the side I expect we'll take in. I don't believe we'll risk going in with just the one ruck so I can see us taking one of Soldo/Griffiths/Hammer in depending on fitness/form. The small forward line has worked most of the year so I don't see us going away from it although we may slightly change up the structure. I can see Edwards being used up forward with his creativity and X factor coming into play. It also allows us to use our best runners in the middle of the ground with Lambert and Grigg on the wings and Prestia in the middle. Down back no real change to the line up. On the bench apart from the extra tall being picked I have the likes of McIntosh Conca and Broad which they gives us good flexibility. Both McIntosh and Conca can go through the middle if needed or can go down back to allow Vlastuin and/or Brandon to go into the middle. Broad can also be used to free up Vlastuin as well or can give us an extra tall to turn to if needed.
