In case you haven't seen it, the age has got this interesting article on collingwood.
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/finals-focus-collingwood-20100817-128nm.html

The age names the best 22 for us VS the Bulldogs (first final):

B: Maxwell, Prestigiacomo, Toovey
HB:O'Brien, Reid, Shaw
C: Thomas, Ball, Wellingham
HF: Didak, Cloke, Beams
F: Davis, Dawes, Macaffer
FOLL: Jolly, Swan, Pendlebury
INT: Johnson, L. Brown, Sidebottom, Blair

Pretty close, with perhaps medders staying in if he hits form in the next 2 games, keeping out Leon. Tyson Goldsack would slot right in if Reid is still struggling with his quad.

EDIT* I don't see leroy brown going backwards from his recent form.
He looks like he is enjoying footy to much...

Goldsack is best 22.

I like Blair as much as the next person but the Sack fills me with so much more confidence when the whips are cracking. He has all the tools and has played in BIG games.

Also, his set-play torps will be pivotal.

You would think 21 spots are set in stone, and the last spot is up for one of Medhurst vs Goldsack vs Blair to claim

I think it's probably a battle for last three spots, out of Medhurst vs Goldsack vs Blair vs Sidebottom vs Davis.

Of those, Davis and Sidey most likely ins, hence we'd come back to exactly what you said ( barring injury)

Goldsack hasnt put a foot wrong this year, once he got picked. His use of the ball is first class.

A luxury at selection with so many viable choices but the Sack should be brought back in for his skill level alone. His hardness is a bonus.

Heart wants Blair to stay, but if it comes down to him or Goldy, if i was a betting man, id put my money on Mr. Sack

I think MM would go that way for a bit of insurance down back, and lets face it he's been spot on all the games he's played.

Not saying Blair has done anything wrong and im one of his biggest supporters, and if im proven wrong then i wont complain but i think the Sacks the one thatll be in against the Doggies in the first final

Rest of the team, aside from the medders vs davis argument (which hopefully will be settled hopefully in the next two weeks, if medders plays well ect) the team is spot on

Bringing Medders in over Leon would probably be a mistake. While Leon hasn't had the most stellar season...at least he's had one at AFL level. Paul is an awesome player who I love to watch, and I look forward to watching him in 2011, but I think he isn't going to work himself into finals form in 2 games.

I tend to agree with you here...I think theyve left the window of opportunity for Medders to get back into the best 22 only slightly open.

Had he been brought back, 3-4 weeks ago, even playing with davis in the same team, he wouldve had a better chance.

With that being said, im pretty sure he'll be picked this week and he showed glimpses of what he was capable of against essendon, spotting up a couple of targets and still had 4 tackles, so the pressure is still there

He'll need to kick a few this week you'd think to make a statements, after that barring injury, it'll be Davis's spot.

Completely agree with all of this, I wish he'd been given the better part of 6 weeks to get himself back in the 22, because I think he'll be left out at the end of round 22.

I liked how he started against essendon, just wish he'd had 3 more qtrs of good footy.

moneybags has to be there week 1 of finals. he has not put a foot wrong this year. was in great form prior to missing last week. he also has big game experience having played in games such as the 07 prelim for instance and was very good v geel a few weeks back.

medhurst is sadly out of touch - if he comes back to form i think he and macaffer are fighting for the same forward spot, and macaffer is on fire right now so it would need a remarkable next fortnight from medhurst to oust him

yes blair was very good last week as he was in his previous senior games. while he was good last when the game was still hot early, it was against the ess midfield. playing the harder bodies and more talented geel and stk midfields in sept will be a massive step up. going to be a good player but big ask for him to do it in sept this year

It's sack over Blair, especially with Ball in the side I think Blair gets pushed out. The sack allows the option of playing Heater more upfield

I think Davis might be able to get some confidence up in the magoos this week and be back next week.

Also i was just having a browse through the Adelaide forums and noticed that they have a poll going "So who do you want to win the flag?". I thought i'd login and see if i could vote... I could and thought it might be funny if we all voted for collingwood on their poll... We only have 7 votes from them so far.

Gsack brings skill, pace, contested marking, courage and hardness to the contest. He can also play on talls and smalls. He has it all over Davis who just has not fired in a final.
