North Launie do play Sth launie and Devonport again, so they have 2 chances to boost their percentage. Havent checked roster so not sure if lauderdale get to play either of them??

Saw in the paper Howard still has an eye on third. He's kidding right? they'll be lucky to win 1 more game not the 4 they will need to finish 3rd!

Lots of money spent for a club that will probably finish 7th, 1 spot ahead of Hobart, who haven't spent a cent!!

Thurls will win medal by a country mile. Will already have 25+ votes

north launnie also have launceston this weekend and burnie at west park next, so they are staring down the barrel.

lauderdale play hobart and sth launnie in run home, if they can knock off pies this weekend 4th spot is their's for taking.. could come down to when they play north hobart in a couple of weeks

Was having a look at the betting on the flag with betasport
Clarence $ 1.85
Launceston $ 1.95
Burnie $11.50
Glenorchy $ 20
N Hobart $ 26
Lauderdale $51
N Launceston $ 61

Looks like only 2 teams with a chance! can anybody see any other team beating Launceston and Clarence???
Is the $ 1.95 good value for Launceston?? will get a home final against Clarence and if they win, the grand final in Launceston.

Don't be so sure of that last point. Wade will no doubt find some excuse to change the rules to ensure the Grand Final is at Bellerive.

At this stage my final ladder would be
Launy
Clar
Burnie
Nhbt
Nth Laun
Laud
Glen
Hbt
SthLaun
Dev.

2nd semi at Aurora & then its up to L'ton to win & get the GF again at Aurora.
Anyway time will tell:D

Roos away from Bellerive def beatable, wouldn't want to be needing to win a game to make 5th against Hobart in last 4 weeks:cool:

laun
cla
burnie

all locked in for top 3 finish.

lauderdale v glen is a MASSIVE game this weekend. loser will almost certainly miss finals IMO.

thanks to a cushy run home North should secure 4th spot, with some percentage.

after next weekend North launceston will be at least one, if not 2 games out of the 5 with devonport, glenorchy and South laun to come. that game vs pies could well decide their fate.

might be boring at the top end but at least there is some interest for 5th spot.

cant see there being anything other than a laun v clarence final though. roos to beat blues in second semi and another GF at Bellerive :D:D:D

Would be such a shame to see Glenorchy drop out.

So much talent in that side. Plenty of ins for the coming weeks though, I think they'll edge into 4th or 5th.

Yeah i agree with that! I find it quite disturbing that Burnie are almost and will probably finish 3rd and at this stage have not beaten anyone in the top five. Only North Launceston early in the year at home. Beat Lauderdale at home and thats it!!!

just goes to show the current roster is so biased. until each team plays everyone twice in same season it won;t change. AFL Tas say no changes in the first five years, they already have changed the finals system tho'.

Obviously Launceston and Clarence deserve to be outright favourites for the 2011 flag.
However I reckon North Hobart would be worth a lazy $100. The have a new coach and appear to have adopted a new game plan which is always a difficult task mid season.
They have an excellent blend of seasoned campaigners and an injection of youth, including the 5 Mariners back from state duties.
Ken Hall and Jesse Wells should be back for the last few games so all is looking promising.

That's a bit different though...the top 6 was unbelievably stupid...no need to sit through another 3 seasons of that...even 3 games of extra revenue (which an "equal draw" would counter in any case) wasn't worth the irrelevance of Week 1 on the GF...

If you want a balanced draw, you need to pay the players more, to ensure they stay at their teams and don't feel the need to wander off to Glenorchy, and you need to get more high profile players into clubs to entice swinging lazy juniors to turn up to TSL training, hang out with the stars, and commit to travelling the state all winter...if you don't meet these conditions, you'll have a TSL full of Devonports and Clarences...and soon after that you'll have a 6-team comp again...these should be AFL Tas' biggest priorities...it would be far better if the option of a different draw was an optional luxury, and not just the result of a short sighted look at the ladder (if Lauderdale were as bad this season as they've been for the last 2 years, noone would be saying a word)...

Right now, the draw is helping the TSL look a little healthier than it is...be careful what you ask for...

Insipid performance against Lauderdale today, they had a few return today from injury but they're no where near living up to pre-season and early season expectations. Weren't they a $2.50 flag favourite about six weeks into the season? It's all gone pear shaped.

They've probably spent more money this season than ever before on playing talent, and may not make the finals (well, they shouldn't make finals based on their past two weeks cos they're no where near it).

Seems on form that 2011 is over for the Pies. Wonder if the extra sides required to play in the SFL has had a negative effect on the club and its resources.

Really interested in how the Glenorchy potential draftees performed today.
1. Jimmy Webster
2. Ben Brown
3. Daniel Joseph

the fact they only named three players in their best should say it all.

Heard Brown didnt get a touch (or very few).

3. OK 2nd half.

Had no impact...ducked the head really badly at one stage as well, dropped the mark, the locals loved it!

Can Lauderdale or North Hobart catch Burnie?

A game and % away, but looking at the roster Burnie, apart from playing Devonport have a tricky run with games against Launceston, North Launceston and Glenorchy at KGV.

Lauderdale play North Hobart, Sth Launie, Clarence and Hobart. Could easily win 3 of those and have a crack at the Roos in the first final

The demons play Lauderdale, Glenorchy Hobart and Clarence, and could easily pip Bunie to 3rd aswell!

Should be all set for a tight finish, but i think Burnie, with there big % likely to get first crack at Clarence!
