Good luck with the finals, I think the Eagles are the only team that could beat Brisbane.

Worst case scenario for me is a Brisbane V Port final, could not handle Aka winning another flag and being a Crows supporter could not handle Port winning a flag and putting up with all of the local Port supporters sprouting off.

So will be barracking for you guys in the finals.

Good luck

Brisbane v Saints
thanx

IMO both would be easybeats at MCG we can really make a mess of these finals if we can just beat sydney at TS - that's probably going to be our toughest assignment of our finals campaign

I won't dignify that comment with one of my customary cliches........

It is better that West Coast ********##s, I suppose. (See chapter on 1992 GF in Jako's book, Zealous and Bold, available at all good bookshops).

That's a Geelong thing. They were just upset because we smashed their hopes and dreams.

The only thing that would stop us beating Sydney is Goal kicking accuracy. Take Sydney away from the Sub-size sub-standard SCG and you aren't left with much.

Check these two results.
Telstra Stadium 2004
Rd 13 Sydney Swans 13. 7. (85) def. Collingwood 11. 13. (79)
Rd 21 Sydney Swans 17. 8. (110) def. Essendon 12. 18. (90)

2 dud Victorian teams who should have both won had it not been for innacuracy.

I think we are a big chance this week. Sydney dont like the bigger grounds. If you recall back to round 8 their players were very reluctant to take shots from the 50. I think is was said at the time that the SCG was still marked with 45m arcs (becasue of the small ground) which puts a lot of doubt in there minds when kicking from 50.

Good point. They were beaten twice at Subi and once at MCG this year, both much larger than SCG.

Beating Sydney first is the priority. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. But it is bloody fantastic to be in the finals again for a third year running. Do I see a 10 year run coming up much like the 90's? :D Lets hope so....

Let me start by saying that I am not trolling. The quote above should tell you all something, something that seems to be overlooked by all who see TS as a bigger ground and therefore easier to beat Sydney on. It is skinny with no pockets. It has less 'playing surface' than the SCG. It is very easy to find yourself out wide kicking for goal with no angle. That is why visiting teams who play there kick a lot of behinds.

Anyway, good luck Eagles. I lived in Perth for a while and used to go to the Eagles games so still like to see them win (when not playing Syd). I hope whoever wins Sat night does some real damage during the 3 weeks after...

Does this make absolutely no sense to anyone else?
