I have downloaded it. The lack of a "typed address history" is really pissing me off.
It's still there, they've just expanded it to search for not just the URLs but the titles etc. I like it!

its good when you dont want ppl to see what youre entered ;)

Thats the problem though. It shows every page you have ever viewed and doesn't allow you to view it as a normal address bar.

Anyway I have managed to get rid of the "Awesomebar" as it seems to have been sarcastically named.

It's pretty smart and will pick up the pages you're after, after a few uses.

The pages I'm after are a set of 8 pages that I visit frequently and as such leave them in the address bar. I already have over 200 favourites and 8 links on my link bar. I need them in my address bar and I need to be able to see them every time I click the down arrow on the address bar.

As I said I have managed to make it behave like it used to thanks to some changes in the about:config so I am happy but this is really something that should be optional. Not forced upon you.

BTW otherwise I am really liking it. I quite like the theme and it seems to handle gmail a bit better than FF2.

Fair enough, I actually do something very similar to you, I don't use many bookmarks, but I like typing the first few letters of the website in the address bar. Example, bigf for bigfooty and just and selecting the first entry and I know it will take me to my user CP.

My biggest gripe with Firefox has been that you cannot choose where your downloads go when they are handled by firefox (apart from changing the settings each time), does anyone know if this has changed?

Edit: I don't know if it's just the new one (I doubt it) but there is an option you can get it to ask you where to save the files that I haven't selected for some reason.

There is an add-on in Mozilla (not released in 3 but wont be long) called Tabbrowser Preferences that gives a lot of extra features to the options menu.

The add-ons in Firefox is the best part of it :p particularly netusage item :thumbsu:

Bit disappointed that so far only one person from Chad has downloaded it.

Haha that's great that you can see the numbers from all countries. Even Somalia has 10, didn't even realise they had internet there.

I noticed "Svalbard & Jan Mayen" have 0, who or what are they? I consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to geography but I've never heard of that before.
