The thing I don't get? They didn't give the men's downhill, the premier event, any serious coverage.

Don't bother trying to make sense of C7's coverage except to know that Australians taking part in anything takes precedence regardless of how well they're doing, and that it will be preceded by a filler piece and followed by multiple interviews with the athlete and as many family members as possible

That's what I thought and to think American coverage is criticized as being jingoistic. I guess it's from rarely hearing Advance Australia Fair.

At least the Australians didn't edit out a bunch of the Opening Ceremony and then cut it together so it looked like our athletes were visible for 7 times longer than they actually were. Now that it jingoistic

But who wants to see the athletes from Latvia and any of those Russki "nations" and Swaziland? Ch7 here seemed to show shots of the Aussies from the time they entered until they took a toilet break. I remember because I needed one too.

I won't. I've been taking it too easy today. Haven't been on my computer all day until now. Sleep is sooooo nice. I watched the finale of TAR Aus/NZ repeat this afternoon. I thought the series was very well done. I still have to catch up with the last two episodes of the current US version.

Oh look, the Olympics. People ski jumping. People performing acrobatic tricks on skis. How thrilling.

Not one of my better days. Just got up from a nap. My friend's daughter just stopped by to see how I was. She's coming over on Saturday to help me get my affairs in order. Just in case. Now... what kind of a funeral do I want? Who's going to get my money? Who gets the OK to give the OK to pull the plug? So many details...

The Russians cooked well last night. I now hate the Jordans more.
