I just received a phone call from Italy from my friend's daughter. My friend, who owns the main house and is letting me stay in the granny flat in the backyard, had a stroke while on their cruise. She's in an Italian hospital now. She seems to be OK at the minute, but they're doing tests. She had earlier lost her wallet and passport and stuff and this apparently caused stress that caused the stroke. She's 81. They were supposed to return a week from today. Hopefully she'll be OK and be allowed to fly home early.

Oh no. The poor thing. That's terrible news.
