One thing they used to do just having 1, yes ONE commercial TV channel in the country was to get some reasonably popular movie for its first airing and then advertise it over and over and OVER again. Then when it was finally actually on absolutely jam pack the thing full of ****ing ads.

Man it was shit. Sometimes it wasn't even a movie that was that well know but they would pump the crap out of it anyway.
