Too many of our so called stars were simply unseen, and if it wasnt for the backline they would have probally won it in the first half.
Headland has done nothing
Croad has done nothing
Longmuir has done nothing
Haselby has done very little

Hadrill,Haydon,Woods,Grover can hold their heads high they are about the only players doing anything.
And someone please explain to me why Siegurt got a game,I dont rate this guy at all.
Who the hell is on Campbell?
Totally unacceptable in a game we have every chance to win.

A bit harsh on Hasleby. He was playing very well until he got hit off the ball by first gamer Tim Fleming late in the first quarter.

Hase was about 3 metres from the ball in the centre square with his eyes focused on the ball and Fleming had his eyes on Hasleby the whole time with the intent of taking him out. He was king hit by Fleming who came through on his blind spot. Full credit to Hasleby for jumping straight up and going after the ball, but players who are focused on winning the ball should be protected.

I don't rate Richmond's Tim Fleming at all. He adds toughness to the Tigers' squad but his skills are virtually non-existent. These sort of players who intend to take the player before the ball command none of my respect (Pickett, Fleming etc). A player with real courage puts his head over the ball and his sole focus is maintained on winning the ball. Sure, it's fine to bump a player if they get in your way, but running off the line of the ball to hit someone is bull****.

I am not totally sure but I think that is about all I can take. I have had a gutfull.

Yet another away rabble performance. If we can't even get close to Richmond away, who the hell are we going to beat?

Connolly has had 18 months to work on this and has so far shown zero improvement whatsoever. Its a real worry that if the game was at Subi it would have been a 7 goal win. Are we really a 15 goal worse side away from home?

Well I didn't think we are as bad as the scoreline indicated but a dissapointing performance none the less. We were in the game til late in the 2nd quarter when the Tigers got 3 quick goals. We didn't capitialise on our chances in the first half while the Tigers did.

When the rain set in, that's when the Tigers really started to dominate in the midfield and the ball was in their forward 50 for a lot of the 3rd Q. The loss of Richardson and Ottens didn't turn out to be so bad in atrocious conditions.

We did alright for the first half of the last quarter but again failed to capitialise blended with a bit of bad luck, the tigers rolled off a few more goals to seal their convincing victory.

The main differences were the Tigers were harder at the ball, they won more contest possesions and were pretty good at the stopages. They also did a better job converting on their opportunities and looked more dangerous when they went forward.

I just hope we can rebound from a dissapointing loss away with a strong home performance and get the points against the under-rated Kangaroos... but it will be a tough challenge and we will need to play our best footy to win.

We were disgraceful . Absolutely pathetic. Heads will roll.

I tell you there is gonna be a lotta soul search in that plane home tonite. I hope right now Chris Connolly is reading the riot act. Also I hope he is having a look at himself. Croad was non existant , there were only 6 guys out there having a dip.

Not trying to rub anything in but:

Haselby was crap
Headland was crap
Farmer was crap

Big tall guy ( forgot his name ) did quiet well I think seeing the conditions.

You guys need to win away from home or youll always be 11-11 and that doesnt get you in finals.

Didn't see the first half, I sat down at 12 and the bullies and demons were on the TV (WIN), so I turned of all the radio's thinking it was a delayed telecast.

Imagine my shock whenI went past the TV on the way to the kettle and the third Qtr was just starting.

The second half was competitive but the bounce of the ball favored the tiges and went against us.

Might have to bring gerard out of retirement, at least they always gave their all in those days.

Sabre, maybe you should remove all of the other topics off sticky? And I think it might be a better idea not putting them as a sticky topic, because you just tend to skip the sticky topics and read what's below. Well I do anyway.

Hey I am just doing what |D_J^B_J| asked, were still trying to work out a good way of doing the player of the year votes if you have any ideas please feel free to contribute.
Thanx

It was pis$weak today, and it's been the same problem over and over - WE ARE CRAP AWAY!
But the thing is, I don't know what we have to do to be able to perform on the road. Should the coaches be sacked, players dropped, younger blokes given a go, should we visit Anthony Robbins before the game and get him to convince us that we're good?? Or is it that to win away you need to have a good team and unfortunatly we're just not good enough yet.

The fact is that good teams will find a way to win away from home and do it regularly. Until we actually win away, or at least give a credible performance away from home we will continue to be a joke to the rest of the competition.

As a Richmond supporter hearing from an opposition supporter that we were harder at the ball is a great sign especially seeing as in recent years we've been labelled as soft.

The round one and round two Player of the Year threads can be taken off. The Fremantle Supporter Information thread hasn't had anyone post in it for 5 days or so and I doubt we'll get many new supporters seeing as though we're already 3 weeks into the season.

Perhaps only the Player of the Year Leaderboard thread for each round should be a sticky so that there'll only be one sticky each week. The voting threads don't need to be stuck. This will mean that you'll have to remove the previous weeks leaderboard and add the new leaderboard each week. Alternatively there could just be one leaderboard thread throughout the whole season ?

I agree with Kenny that you guys were much harder at the ball and were getting first hands to it which allowed you to win the contested possession. Coughlan is certainly no slouch when it comes to winning the hard ball and Johnson will assist in this area as well. Fleming adds toughness to your squad but his footballing skills are poor. Bowden is still a little soft IMO but your pacey receivers such as Bowden, Tivendale and Fiora will never become quality in and under type players. Your midfield is much better than what other people say it is IMO.

Hase had a bad day and given his recent past performances he is easy to forgive but croad and farmer are a massive disappointment. They have had a year to sort themselves out and they are still way below par. Neither of them are showing the sort of form they had at previous clubs and now i am getting a very bad feeling about Headland even though it is early days.

What is the problem? The club cant be blamed for wanting these guys at the club, they should be fair dinkum superstars judging on their performances for their old clubs. What goes wrong when they get to Freo?

Does anyone know if Haddrill's injury is serious or not... the one he did in the last minute or two of the game.

Ah, just cramp. And Polak won't be missing any games it seems like which is good. And McPharlin and Parker will be back within a week or 2.

I think McPharlin might play up forward occasionaly when Parker is in the side because I think Parker, Hayden, Grover, Haddrill and Polak is a pretty handy defence.

Croad

I wonder whether Conolly will have the intestinal fortitude to drop Croad?? Personally I doubt it.

Bard Hardie on the radio yesterday, said he remembers reading an article a few years ago where Croad was described as an athlete playing football, now he should be described as a model playing football. How much longer will you Dockers put up with the poor efforts of Farmer and Croad? And it looks like Headland is going the same way. Connolly MUST show the others in the squad that he is not playing favourites.

Yeah, I made it up ...
You're kidding yourself if you think he is a skillful player. By his own admission his skills are poor and need working on and the only reason he was recruited to the Tigers was to add toughness to the midfield as it has often been labelled as "soft".
